Search by Tags

This page lets you filter my database of all of the new fiction and audio drama podcasts by granular tags to a precise niche. This is very much a work in progress, with tagging of shows always improving. If you want to help, submit your show or update your tagging.

Because tagging is incomplete, you may wish to leave some options empty with initial searches, and then get more specific.

You can also search by Title.

Genre tags - these are additive, so if you pick "Horror" and "Comedy", you should only get horror comedies, rather than just horror. You don't need to select a value for all of them, and some shows don't have three tags, so feel free to start broad and get more narrow.

The Serpent Under My Skin
The Serpent Under My Skin is an exploration into an allegorical retelling of what it is like to be raised trans and conservative alt right. If you like the major motion picture The Green Knight and Arthurian legend, this might be for you. It's a hair-raising tale with small, quiet moments of gender exploration and theological discussion. The themes are religious trauma and heartbreak, the complicated relationships with our parents, and who gets to decide who lives and dies and what that means. A central theme runs through the story of brainwashing children to do our bidding instead of viewing them as complete and whole human beings. If you like stories of gender awakening, striking back against the people that have harmed you, pain and suffering and the catharsis that comes from becoming a more complete human being, even if it means leaving behind everyone and everything you've ever known, this story may be the one for you.It centers on Paladin, a lone child plucked from our world and raised in another to become a murderer of drifters, people that travel from other worlds. It follows their loss of faith and subsequent mental breakdown in a tender, raw performance that dips into both feminine and trans rage.

It isn’t just that the house is full of cryptic notebooks, ominous scribblings on the wall, and a basement that is colder than it should be. It isn’t just that Claire abruptly up and left her live-in boyfriend and is now being stalked by a psychopathic realtor. Claire is… off. Claire is sleepwalking. Sometimes when Claire begins to speak, it isn’t her voice that comes out at all. Claire begins to obsess over a cult her biological family was a part of, The Family of Fire. As she gets closer to a secret at the heart of the old house in the Toronto neighborhood of Parkdale, she is also getting closer to losing herself. And after Claire goes missing, with the help of co-worker-turned-friend-Owen, Judith vies to track her down, even if it means diving into a history that may have been better left untouched. Even if it means dealing with spirits that really do not like her. Parkdale Haunt is about friendship and identity, trauma, cults, demons, and rituals, and, most frighteningly, the Toronto real estate market.

The Mask of Inanna
The world isn’t kind to dreamers. Like any boy of the radio era, Leonard Allen dreamed of hitting big in New York and Hollywood; to write or host that one big show that would make everyone notice. Even after he had his chance at both, that dream still burns inside him. He’s always been able to spark the divine somewhere in his work. And he’s been noticed. He doesn’t know the lengths people will go to take advantage of such gifts. So when the mysterious David Lewis asked him finish his classic radio drama “After Dark” after a half-century from a pirate radio station in a New England lighthouse, Len didn’t realize it wasn’t as simple as that. The truth is that Lewis served a more powerful entity than even public opinion: the goddess Inanna, Sumerian patron of love and war both. Sometimes, a god wants a sacrifice. Sometimes, a god wants praise and devotion. But the most fickle, and the most dangerous, are those who demand a show.
