On the sweltering living continent of Kalsentia, the temperature isn't the only thing that's up! Tensions between the jungle-dwelling Red Wader village and the lowland-dwelling Kyteholdr peoples due to the disappearance of the Elder Prophet Gemekala, and fingers are being pointed on both sides as hostilities start to mount. To add to the issue, pollution has begun issuing downstream, causing frightful mutations and scaring off the wildlife both tribes need to sustain themselves! Who better than a bunch of strangers from other tribes who've blundered into the whole mess and the least intelligent Red Wader tribe member ever to solve it before it turns to all-out tribal warfare?

A stopover in Paradise ends up leaving Bara with a decision to make about the future of the group's mission, while the rest of the group discovers the wonders of canned food and refrigeration with their new pal Tammy. A rescue mission leads to the introduction of a new potential friend, which is immediately sidelined by an intense discussion amongst the players and G.M. regarding the legalities and social acceptability of Donald Duckin' it and whether anthropomorphic kangaroos would need undergarments. This stuff just happens, folks.

Arlo discovers the wonders of rods, Liblet learns about politics, Bly uses his rhythm to nab everyone a free lunch after making a close new friend, and Bara tries to clean up after the rest of them as best as possible. Bloodstains, speed kills, fast trucks, cheap thrills.

The one wherein we meet our four protagonists (Bara Nosi, the black bear medic/mechanic, Arlo Diggs the honey badger radio specialist, Bly Moons the tribal domestic cat wilderness scout, and Liblet Thumblejump, the frog/packrat [frackrat] chimera armorer), find out exactly what they'll be doing for the Academic Underground, and experience a fair bit of speciesism towards dogs. Like, nobody planned how much these folks are speciesist towards dogs in-game, but honestly, it's kind of disturbing.
