Y2Spillman - Coming April 22nd
Tue, 15 Apr 2025 04:05:00 +0000
"The new millennium is the long-anticipated event around which some sects and cults build end-of-the-world so-called prophecies. Others may use this time as an opportunity to attempt to induce panic and terror. The media has charged still others with attempting to stir panic for personal gain in order to sell books or survival supplies. Regardless of the motivation of others, these events will likely directly impact the lives and jobs of emergency workers. With effects estimates ranging from “a blip on the screen” to “catastrophic meltdown and the end of our society as we know it,” it is difficult to know how much preparation for Y2K is appropriate. What preparation is prudent, and when does preparation cross the line into paranoia?"
Y2K Service Continuity Plan For Emergency Services Departments By Randy Templeton. 1999

BOO! We’re bringing you a very special Halloween bonus episode, featuring some very special guests! Welcome–not to the town of Spillman–but to the town of Goblinville! We’re playing literal goblins this time so… it’s about as unhinged as you’d expect.
A HUGE thank you to our guest goblins: Daniel Cruz, Aaron Kaufhold, Jordan Nelson, and Grayson Norman from the DnDark Podcast! Go give ‘em a listen. Their show is pretty dang cool.
Our Goblinville artwork is by the incredibly talented Jordan Nelson. (You have a goblin heart, too, Jordan. We love ya!) You can find Jordan’s very good Schlep artwork and the Goblinville town map here.
Goblinville Gazette was created by Michael Dunn-O'Connor and Eric Swanson at Narrative Dynamics.

Thank you to Eli Schneider for composing our Breakfast theme song. It sure is the cat’s meow.
(Also, thanks to our friend Kyle for making us moonshine!)

Welcome to Spillman, 1924! You’re about to meet the most respectable saps this side of the Mississippi. A pious, church-going dame, a hard boiled copper, and a down-on-his-luck barber. But just between you and me, if you’re looking for a gin joint… we know a place.

Breakfast: The 7 Laws of Kevin Bacon (2.11)
Tue, 25 Jun 2024 04:05:00 +0000
Is this talkback episode even more unhinged than when we tried to live/laugh/love/bludgeon our way out of danger? Maybe. Welcome to Breakfast, where Christine takes us behind the scenes (or should we say, behind the line?) of The Broken Yolk. We’re comin’ in hot with a very specific energy. You’ve been warned.
Thank you to Eli Schneider for composing our Breakfast theme song. We’ll always keep a booth open for you, pal.

Bonus Episode: Tangled Blessings Playthrough!
Fri, 24 Feb 2023 05:05:00 +0000
Fabrice and Christine have been accepted to a magical academy for adults, but what horror, drama, and rivalry await them in and out of the classroom? Join us for this special playthrough of Cassi Mothwin’s forthcoming game, Tangled Blessings!
Tangled Blessings is a solo journaling or two-player RPG inspired by dark academia media, ghost stories, and graduate school. The core mechanics are based on the ENnie-nominated Anamnesis game by Samantha Leigh. Featuring a wizarding college, wandering specters, assigned houses, curses, devils’ bargains and more supernatural flavor, Tangled Blessings blends horror and the fantastical to help players craft a story that spans their time at the academy — culminating in one final showdown against their rival.
The Crowdfundr for Tangled Blessings ends SOON, on February 25th. Check it out here and snag a copy for yourself: https://crowdfundr.com/tangledblessings
Thank you to Cassi for providing this special advanced copy for us to play. You can find out more about the game and her other work here:

The sound echoes throughout the house, reverberating off painted walls and vaulted ceilings. You feel it thrumming inside your chest, against your ribs. Ringing, ringing.
Grace, Roy, and Derek rush to uncover the mysteries of McCail Manor. Some secrets, it would seem, aren’t meant to remain buried. But not everyone makes it out of the house alive. Roy plots an escape. Grace gives chase. Derek starts digging. Deep.

Taphophobia (or taphephobia), (n): the fear of being buried alive
Join us for part one of our very first Dread story, where three longtime pals visit McCail Manor—a quiet, historic home turned Air B&B. But, as they quickly learn, the house might not be so quiet after all...
Featuring Grace, who tries to keep everyone smiling; Roy, who tries to keep everything sparkling; and Derek, who just wants to see a ghost. Really, really badly.
