This Episode: The party delves beneath the keep!

"According to Munch himself, The Scream was a picture he painted to represent his soul. Rather than adhering to the art style of the time — that is, painting pictures meticulously to realistically represent the subjects in them — he chose to use an unrealistic style to paint his emotions, rather than focus on realism and perfectionism in his art. Munch explained that he painted a moment of existential crisis. He was walking down a road similar to the one in the painting, while the sun was setting, creating a beautiful, vibrant background. His friends were walking with him, but, looking out at the sky in front of them, he stopped, while they continued walking. He then described having what we would now consider to be a panic attack; he suddenly became tired, anxious, claustrophobic, and the weight of nature and of the world hit him all at once."

2020 Winter Break Holiday Spectacular!

Because our cast is made up of teachers and students we have decided to take winter break which means there won't be a regular episode or a Whine & Spirits this week or next.  

However, we felt that, in the spirit of the season and as a celebration of the end of a pretty tough year for everyone, we would make a special episode celebrating the holidays with some songs and skits for you.

Latke Recipe:

  • 2 large potato (or replace with 4 large carrots)
  • 1 large carrot (optional)
  • 1 medium onion
  • 1 egg (or 2 for thicker latkes)
  • salt (to taste)
  • pepper (to taste)
  • garlic powder (to taste)
  • Vegetable oil
  • Apple sauce or sour cream on the side (optional)

  1. Peel and grate potatoes (and/or carrots) and set aside in a bowl of water to prevent oxidation. This won’t change the taste, but it will make them look better.

  2. Cut onion into thin short strings. Place in bowl and set aside.

  3. Squeeze water out of the shredded potatoes (and/or carrots) with a kitchen towel and combine with onion, egg, salt, pepper, garlic powder until evenly mixed.

  4. Set pan of vegetable oil on stove on medium-high heat until oil shimmers.

  5. Form mix into patties and fry until golden brown, flip and repeat and lay out finished product on plate and paper towel to absorb excess oil. Serve hot for best taste.

Fun-loving salesmen Richard (Jonathan Silverman) and Larry (Andrew McCarthy) are invited by their boss, Bernie (Terry Kiser), to stay the weekend at his posh beach house. Little do they know that Bernie is the perpetrator of a fraud they've uncovered and is arranging to have them killed. When the plan backfires and Bernie is killed instead, the buddies decide not to let a little death spoil their vacation. They pretend Bernie is still alive, leading to hijinks and corpse desecration galore.

Charles improvised this onstage at a club in Brownsville, Pennsylvania in December 1958 after he played every song he knew and still had 12 minutes to fill. He simply asked his band to follow his lead... which they did. He told his backing singers (The Raeletts) to simply repeat whatever he said. The singer remembered: "I had sung everything I could think of. So I said to the guys, 'Look, I'm going to start this thing off, I don't know where I'm going, so y'all just follow me.' And I said to the girls, 'Whatever I say, just repeat after me.'"

Story Arc: "The Murder Mystery"

This episode of Rocks Fall, Everyone Dies! The party confronts the lesser acolytes of Shatan, Bambi falls asleep, and "hell" breaks loose!

This mop system costs about $10 more than the competitor but the quality is much better. The built in handle is a great feature to pull around as you clean although an improvement would be to make it longer for tall people. The mop pole is made of metal and is easy to extend or shorten. So for me at 6'4" tall it is long enough and yet can collapse for my better half at 5'4"!. Spinning the water from the mop is a breeze. This is a great product at a fair price.

Coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) is a procedure to improve poor blood flow to the heart. It may be needed when the arteries supplying blood to heart tissue, called coronary arteries, are narrowed or blocked. This surgery may lower the risk of serious complications for people who have obstructive coronary artery disease, a type of ischemic heart disease. CABG may also be used in an emergency, such as a severe heart attack. CABG uses blood vessels from another part of the body and connects them to blood vessels above and below the narrowed artery, bypassing the narrowed or blocked coronary arteries. One or more blood vessels may be used, depending on the severity and number of blockages. The blood vessels are usually arteries from the arm or chest, or veins from the legs. Risks and possible complications may occur with this procedure. After CABG, your doctor may recommend medicines and heart-healthy lifestyle changes to further reduce your symptoms, treat your disease, and help prevent complications such as blood clots.
