It all began with an idea; a simple but exciting concept born from the shared talents of two old friends who found themselves separated by miles yet united by creativity and a passion for storytelling. They wondered, could their combined skills be transformed into something fun and engaging that people would not only listen to but also enjoy? The answer to that question is still unfolding, but that’s where you come in. Your presence here tells us you're seeking something fresh, something off the beaten path, and for that, we’re immensely grateful. Enjoy!

Witless Wanderers: South Dakota - Episode 3
Tue, 27 Jan 2026 17:19:13 GMT
Fred and Rodney are back—and this time, South Dakota doesn’t stand a chance. Join our intrepid pair as they take a journey full of laughter, questionable facts, genuine wonder, and the kind of heartfelt friendship that can only be forged while arguing about the historical significance of a pinecone. Buckle up! History has never been this delightfully off‑kilter.
Join our overly confident history duo as they road‑trip through some of the state’s most iconic and occasionally corn-covered destinations. From the crunchy grandeur of the Corn Palace to the rugged beauty of the Badlands, from the presidential stone stares of Mount Rushmore to the powerful, still-evolving tribute of the Crazy Horse Memorial, Fred and Rodney stumble, bicker, and marvel their way across the Black Hills. Along the way, they encounter unpredictable weather, reverent gift shops, and more plaques than Rodney can emotionally process. A misguided adventure awaits!
Legends & Oddities: Baby New Year - Episode 2
Wed, 31 Dec 2025 16:10:36 GMT
Welcome back for another peak into the world of weird, legends we never dreamt were real, and things that make you go “hmmm!” From mysterious vanishings and questionable cryptids to the inexplicable oddities of the modern world, we’re not here to find answers; we’re here to ask the truly unanswerable questions. Our pharmaceutically enhanced host, Stanley O'Brady, is ready to give you one last Christmas present.
This week as we say goodbye to the year that was, Stanley faces his most difficult interview yet: a special in-studio conversation with none other than Baby New Year and maybe even Father Time himself. As the torch is officially passed, Stanley digs into the metaphysical aspects of the hand-off, the logistics of global temporal management and tries to uncover the economic forecast for the coming year. It’s a chaotic, diaper-changing, clock-winding mess of an episode. Don't miss this exclusive look at what the new year has planned for us—assuming the Baby stops chewing on the microphone.
Legends & Oddities: Upward Bound - Episode 1
Mon, 01 Dec 2025 18:57:20 GMT
Ever look at a historical footnote, a bizarre headline, or a truly questionable life choice and just think, "Seriously, why?"
You've found your people.
Join your perpetually bewildered host, Stanley O'Brady, as he dives headfirst into the weirdest corners of history, urban legends, conspiracy theories, and everyday human absurdity. We’re not here to find answers; we’re here to ask the truly unanswerable questions.
From mysterious vanishings and questionable cryptids to the inexplicable oddities of the modern world, the "Legends and Oddities Hour" is the only place where skepticism meets side-splitting laughter. Tune in every week—or suffer the crushing weight of unanswered absurdity alone!
In our inaugural episode, Stanley sits down with an engineering mastermind, the inventor of a revolutionary (and frankly, baffling) new public utility: The Upward-Bound Stairs. Stairs claimed to be a triumph of physics and philosophy—a staircase designed exclusively for going up. Stanley, naturally, asks the hard-hitting questions: "But what's the use case?" "How do you get down?" And the classic: "What were you thinking?"
Prepare for an interview that goes nowhere... literally. Listen now and start your journey into absurdity!

Junkyard - by Clifford D. Simak
Tue, 06 May 2025 21:51:17 GMT
JUNKYARD was first published in the May 1953 issue of Galaxy Magazine before becoming a part of the Golden Age of radio. The story was adapted for the airways and was originally broadcast on February 22, 1956 on the X-1 show broadcasting on NBC radio.
JUNKYARD tells the tale of a spaceship crew exploring a planet they’ve spied from afar, and what looks to them to be an inexplicable pile of junk on the planet’s surface. They land to investigate. One by one the crew begins to exhibit memory loss, and soon can’t remember how to start the ship’s engines for take-off. The mystery becomes curiouser and curiouser, taking several unanticipated twists. Will the crew not only discover what is causing their memory loss, but be able to do so before they forget what they are attempting? One mystery leads to another in this cleverly imagined story.
As fans of science fiction, we chose JUNKYARD as our first show as it was one of the more intriguing science fiction scenarios we ran across during our initial Old Time Radio perusals. Plus, it gave two actors the chance to portray multiple interesting characters and research music as well as sound effects, which were something we hadn’t done before. We think you’ll enjoy this blast from the past as much as we did producing it and hopefully you’ll want to listen again to two guys with time on their hands doing something they love.
