This is a story about identity and self discovery, family loyalty and devotion, all wrapped around a nightmare of a road trip with a rejuvenating severed head, incredibly sincere Victorian ghosts, and an analogue recorder.

FEED SWAP - Listen Closely (The Night Market)

Tue, 29 Jul 2025 10:56:30 GMT

In these weeks between episodes, we'd like to highlight and share some of our favourite fellow podcasts and shows! This week, we present something a little different. This is an in-universe podcast for a book about audio drama written by Leon Egan of Tell No Tales, who introduced this for us with some context!

Listen Closely is a heartwarming, cosy YA romance, perfect for fans of You've Got Mail, Jenny Han, Beth Reekles, and Heartstopper, from the highly-acclaimed author of Lover Birds.

"Jude's smile is magnificent. Their sharp edges melted away into a rare and beautiful joy. The flash illuminates them as their photo is taken, and for just a second, they glow. It feels like lightning has struck."
When Jude and Aiden are paired together for an internship at a local radio station, things are awkward. Jude is quiet, withdrawn, has one friend, and is suspicious of everyone. Aiden is charming, outgoing and popular, with a seemingly easy confidence and golden retriever energy.
But after they discover a shared love of podcast dramas, Jude and Aiden realise that they have more in common than they first realised -- especailly after Aiden reveals that he is a huge fan of Jude's own podcast, The Night Merchant.
With a wonderful and original meet-cute premise, an adorable couple with a grumpy x sunshine dynamic and gorgeous chemistry, and themes of forced proximity, found family, and mistaken identity, Listen Closely is an irresistible, heartwarming, swoon-worthy romance and a beautiful coming-of-age story – perfect for fans of You’ve Got Mail, Heartstopper, and Rainbow Rowell.

Narrated by Cloud Quinn and Maggie Bain.

The Holmwood Foundation - Updates #2

Thu, 21 Nov 2024 14:02:57 GMT

Hi all,

This is Georgia, one half of the Holmwood Foundation writing team, just posting a quick update regarding the Holmwood Foundation.

As you may or may not have heard, our Kickstarter for season one ended last week, after successfully reaching our funding goal of 23 thousand pounds, which means we are now full steam ahead on production!

We just wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone who has supported us up to this point, whether monetarily, by listening and sharing our pilot, enthusing about us on social media, or giving us your time and experience to help make this show possible, we have been blown away by the support. We wouldn’t be here without your help, and we are so so grateful.

So, what comes next?

Right now we are hard at work editing and locking off our season one scripts, wrangling our actors and finalising our recording schedule. We hope to release the rest of season one in Spring or early summer 2025, but we will keep you updated as we go, via our socials and this feed.

In the meantime, we are also working hard to begin fulfilling the tier rewards for our Kickstarter backers! Please remember; if you don’t fill out your backer survey, we will not be able to get your rewards to you, so please take a moment to do that now, if you haven’t already!

If you missed the Kickstarter window, we do have late pledges open for a short time, in case you would like access to our private Discord server, access to episodes a day early when they drop, or a shout out on our website. If that interests you, do check out our Kickstarter link in the show notes!

We will continue to release art, character extracts, script snippets and other goodies over on our socials, as we gear up for the rest of season one, so please do follow us if that interests you! We regularly answer questions and interact with our followers. Links also in the show notes.

That’s all from me for now! Please do reach out to us if you have any questions, comments or concerns. A huge thank you again. We can’t wait to show you the horrors we have in store!
