Today marks the launch of a new season and a new series: The Delphi Tapes.
Amber Carr wants to write a story that matters. She chooses the small town of Delphi, Florida, as her subject. Political corruption and shady developers have bled Delphi dry, but the locals seem unconcerned about the town’s economic prospects given what’s lurking in its swamps. There’s something in the water in Delphi. Something very corrupt indeed.

When the world is brutal, hardening yourself is a matter of survival. But the strong still need the sweet. I don’t write a lot of love stories, but this one sort of tumbled onto the page. We expect a vine and moss-caged mansion or a fog-shrouded graveyard to have its fair share of ghosts. But I imagine a place where we regularly, willingly push our bodies beyond their limits to suffer its own form of haunting. Well, not always willingly. We may feel something heavier than weights on our shoulders, a pressure we refuse to put down—even if it kills us.
