Short Story Hunters - Episode 12 - Series One Finale - Bang!

Sat, 17 Jul 2021 06:00:00 GMT

Well, they somehow managed an entire series despite many attempted injunctions to have them taken off air. B and Jonny see out Series One with the grand finale, Bang - based around 3 stories about explosions. First up is the opening extract from The Panopticon Experiment, a gripping tale of friendship and hope by Rachel Caldecott. Rachel's book can be purchased here: https://amzn.to/2THYKHv  Next it's Bang! by James Marinero, about a man's desperate race against time. Will he make it unscathed? And finally comes Terror by Nina. Terror has been sponsored by Kitchen Sink Productions Inc. Oh, and a word of warning. B. and Jonny will definitely be back with series two very soon.

Short Story Hunters - Episode 11 - Balloon and Sunburst

Fri, 11 Jun 2021 05:00:00 GMT

No, it's not a new hard-hitting crime series. It's more fun chat as the Internet's only Hiberno-Swiss duo return for the penultimate episode of Series 1.

B. recommends the many health benefits of drinking hot water, while Jonny remembers, as a lad, always having wanted but never receiving a helium-filled balloon. This week’s stories, from The Litopia Flash Club, were inspired by the prompts: “Balloon” and “Sunburst”. They are: An Encounter With Pirates by Matthew Snoding. Gita by Benjamin S, and Ten Pounds for a Balloon? No Thanks by an Anonymous contributor.

This week they're featuring two short stories on the "Locked In" theme, along with an excerpt from a newly published, gripping and tense thriller. #MandyDream visits Vlogger, Mandy, who's just about managing to get through Lockdown. Drive Me Nuts sees Constable Watkins and his Sarge try to unravel a perplexing mystery of a disturbed man, and Broken Fingers, is the opening 500 words of new thriller by author Stephen Coombes. Keeping their weekly date in the now legendary Lit Lounge, B & Jonny explore the frequently tricky subject of dating, with the usual mix of fun and wry sideways glancing. Fri, 21 May 2021 05:00:00 GMT

How to Commit The Perfect Crime by Sinead and Till Death Us Do Part by Jake Joy.

Short Story Hunters - Episode 7 - Childhood Homes and Memories

Fri, 14 May 2021 05:00:00 GMT

Believe it or not, B and Jonny are still at large. Yes. Apparently there's been a problem with the paperwork and the writs haven't been served yet. So this week they're looking at childhood homes and the memories they hold, with three more short stories based on that theme. Sculpture by J A Babo. App-eals by Stacey Noe and The Layover by Steve Why.

Short Story Hunters - Episode 6 - Difficult Decisions

Fri, 07 May 2021 05:00:00 GMT

Something ought to be done about these two, but until it is B & Jonny will keep coming back again with fun chat, cake talk and two more great short stories sent in by listeners. So grab a coffee and kick your shoes off and allow yourself fifteen minutes to enjoy, Fried  by Brian Weston and Ten Years From Now by Lisa Heidle.

B & Jonny are back and the digital postman's been, delivering stories sent into the show from around the world. Luke, by Ree Villaruel. And The Beetle's Mausoleum, by Nick Sweeney.

Short Story Hunters - Episode 4 - "Beam me up, Scotty."

Fri, 23 Apr 2021 05:00:00 GMT

"Make it so." As B and Jonny present more fun, laughs and short stories, this time of a sci-fi nature. Those of a faint-hearted disposition should be warned the show features someone who ought to know better, yet still has the front to perform a disco song lyric through the medium of Rap. You have been warned. Short Story Hunters wishes to state it cannot be held responsible for any trauma caused as a result.

Short Story Hunters - Episode 2 - New Beginnings

Fri, 09 Apr 2021 05:00:00 GMT

New Beginnings? Some suggest that would have been ideal as theme for episode one. But Pod Land's first Hiberno-Swiss presenting duo, B & Jonny, laugh in the face of such hidebound convention. They dance to a different drum. And if you'd like to submit your own story, then visit litopia.com/hunters and send us your flash fiction piece of no more than 500 words.
