While Agent Gaylor was not pleased by R Cell’s intrusion on her investigation, she did point them in the direction of the Oakland Pit. A super-fund site, it seems an excellent source for the heavy metals involved in Deputy Sheriff Jacob’s death. The Agents investigate and discover further clues about their Patient Zero and what may be hidden in the polluted waters.

Their best lead is the badge with a stylized “B” he wore. River also obtains a new investigative lead when he contacts his counterpart from the EPA, intruding on her earlier investigation. Theories abound as they search for the truth.
