S3 Ep 10 'The Christmas Horror Song (Cos of Covid 19) Music Special live from The Overlook Hotel (SEASON FINALE)

Sat, 04 Dec 2021 17:00:00 +0000

In this rather unusual episode of Creepy Cove, Peter turns up at the church ready for another lovely horror themed church service, but is struck by the eerie atmosphere...OF AN EMPTY CHURCH.

Where is the congregation?

Thankfully, Peter is able to have a conversation with Church Administrator Rupert Donk, to learn that a terrible blight has reached even Creepy Cove...

Yet the show must go on, in some way...and so after ten minutes of chat, Rupert dusts off an old cassette and plays it...what is on the tape, you ask? I shall tell you.

For it is the Flicks That Church Forgot Horror Song Music Special from 2014. Previously thought lost (e.g. behind a Patreon Paywall) that special show, broadcast from The Overlook Hotel, is played in it's entirety for your pleasure. That music special features songs from horror films, METICULOUSLY recreated by Peter Laws with his keyboard, guitar and a Macbook.

Music includes songs from
THE WICKER MAN
CARRIE
HOWLING II: YOUR SISTER IS A WEREWOLF
TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE II
SILVER BULLET
THE LEGEND OF BOGGY CREEK
KINGDOM OF THE SPIDERS
&
DEADTIME STORIES (aka Freaky Fairy Tales)

So please sit back and enjoy this tale of two halfs, almost...a dip into Creepy Cove, and then a special night of entertainment from the vault...all in a bid to wish you, our loyal listener...a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS!

S3 E9 'What is Love?' (SERMON ONLY VERSION).

Sat, 20 Nov 2021 18:00:00 +0000

Welcome to another episode of Creepy Cove Community Church! You will find herein, a recording of our most recent church service. Which we shall tell you about in words below...

Please note that this is the SERMON ONLY version. If you'd like the full experience, complete with an interview with the killer doll Chucky from the film series Child's Play then please proceed with haste to the FULL SERVICE VERSION which should be sitting just next to this one.

Tonight Peter  leads us in a 'sermon' on the topic 'What Is Love?' and at no point does he say, 'Baby, don't hurt me, don't hurt me, no more.' What a missed opportunity, ey?

Following this address, we have a time of prayer and meditation followed by the church band who leap to the stage to perform this week's Horror Hymn. This highly effecting electro track explores who the science fiction future we were all promised (glitter wigs, robots and people dressed in glass and metal) never materialised. And so the people of the modern age are wearing much more mundane attire...the title of this though provoking toe-tapper is 'THE FUTURE IS FLEECE'. This track uses an actual vocoder, so please be impressed.

May this service please you, encourage you, amuse you or disgust you...but may it never make you feel unwelcome. For no matter who you are, no matter what you believe, you are loved here at Creepy Cove.

S3 E9 'What is Love?' (FULL SERVICE feat Chucky, the killer doll from Child's Play).

Sat, 20 Nov 2021 17:00:00 +0000

Welcome to another episode of Creepy Cove Community Church! You will find herein, a recording of our most recent church service. Which we shall tell you about in words below...

The service opens with our church administrator Rupert Donk, who (after warning people to avoid a sleeping Mr Upson Pratt in the front row) proceeds to share some exciting news about our minister Peter Laws. For he has joined Arc Light Media to become the lead writer and presenter of the 'FRIGHTFUL' podcast. Tune in to that for free every Sunday, for scary but true tales of the paranormal, creepy crime, bizarre creatures, urban myths and much more! Just search 'FRIGHTFUL' in your podcast apps, or on Spotify.

After that blatant, but well intentioned plug, Rupert has a most invigorating discussion with a local haunted doll. Chucky's the name, and murderin' and disrespectin' in his game. But will he behave himself now he's in a church? Let's hope so!

After that, it's over to Peter who leads us in a 'sermon' on the topic 'What Is Love?' and at no point does he say, 'Baby, don't hurt me, don't hurt me, no more.' What a missed opportunity, ey?

Following this address, we have a time of prayer and meditation followed by the church band who leap to the stage to perform this week's Horror Hymn. And so the people of the modern age are wearing much more mundane attire...the title of this though provoking toe-tapper is 'THE FUTURE IS FLEECE'. This track uses an actual vocoder, so please be impressed.

After that, Rupert and Peter have a little chat about the potential rehabilitation of little Chucky, then our service draws to a close.

May it please you, encourage you, amuse you or disgust you...but may it never make you feel unwelcome. For no matter who you are, no matter what you believe, you are loved here at Creepy Cove.

S3 Ep 7 'Dealing With Rejection' Part 2 (FULL SERVICE feat Father Paul from Netflix's 'Midnight Mass'

Sat, 23 Oct 2021 17:00:00 +0100

Welcome to another fine service here at Creepy Cove Community Church. The only horror themed church on the planet...surely?

This is the FULL SERVICE...if you just want the 'sermon/ talk' then check out the SERMON ONLY VERSION next to this one.

Rupert Donk opens tonights service with some devastating news about the churches coffee machine...the poltergeist has struck once again! Then we have a very special guest who takes the stage for an interview...yes, we hear from the lovely Father Paul Hill who is taking over from Monsignor Pruitt over on Crockett Island.  Father Paul is heading off to Crockett tomorrow, so he has joined our humble church to draw some spiritual inspiration from our congregation.  But will he make it through the interview without collapsing?

In the interview, he and Rupert discuss how moist Monsignor Pruitt's armpits are, and how this 'unpleasant' bodily feature has led to great wonders.

Next we are delighted to have our Bible reading from Lyssiah, who hails from the nearby town of Twin Peaks. After that Peter takes the stage to speak to us on the topic of Dealing With Rejection...sharing a few times he has struggled with rejection himself...but we learn how it does not have to define us.

After a Crockett Island themed prayer and meditation, it's over to Father Paul again who turns out to be a most talented troubadour. For he sings a little self-penned ditty for us about his new role at St Saviours on Crockett. A full on cheese fest song called 'I Feel Okay'.

Finally, Rupert and Peter discuss the challenges of toe-tapping and maritime drinks before retiring to the bar.

And that completes another pleasant and hopefully encouraging service from the windswept church on the peak.

We very much hope you enjoyed your time with us...thanks for coming!

S3 E6 'Dealing with Rejection' Part 1 (FULL SERVICE feat Ash from The Evil Dead)

Sat, 09 Oct 2021 17:00:00 +0100

Welcome one and all to Creepy Cove Community Church, the only horror themed church on the planet (as far as we know).

This is the FULL SERVICE...if you just want the 'sermon/ talk' then check out the SERMON ONLY version next to this one.

Rupert Donk opens tonight's service with some words of extreme caution regarding the dangerous peak on which the church stands. Then we have a special impromptu guest called Ash Williams, who we saw running out of the forest, holding a chainsaw and a shotgun. What on earth could the young scamp have been up to? A party for the youth, we should imagine. Though one wonders if there might be a more sinister reason for the blood on his clothes and chin.

Next, Annabelle, the little haunted doll, delivers our Bible Reading, then Peter hops up to the microphone to share some thoughts on 'Dealing with Rejection'.

There's a vaguely 'Five Nights at Freddies' meditation after that and then a prayer. Until the service is closed with Ash himself, who offers to sing a smooth bossa nova called 'How Could I Have Known (A Love Song For Linda after I Chopped her Head Off by Ash from The Evil Dead). What a convoluted title, ey?

Finally, Peter and Rupert talk about the humble Garibaldi biscuit brand...then it's the end of the service.

Thanks for listening. If you appreciate the *crazy hard work it takes to make this FREE show* then please consider joining our Patreon. You'll get various extras and help us keep Creepy Cove going. Thank you!

Welcome to the worlds only (as far as we know) horror themed church service. You are most welcome, no matter what your belief.

Tonights service opens with a little humour from our Church Administrator Rupert Donk. But will his japes tickle the funny bone, or prompt folks to walk out in disgust? After he finds out, he shares some news about local KAB Radio DJ Stevie Wayne who needs a little help at her lighthouse radio station up at Spivy Point. Stevie even sticks around to deliver our Bible reading tonight, too, in her smooth jazz, radio voice.

Our special guest is local psychic pipsqueak, Eleven, who will be telling us all about a new workshop she'll be leading at the church on E.S.P. It's called 'Mind How You Go!' Do GO to it.

S3 Ep4 'Why Loving Your Enemies Makes Weird Sense' Pt 2 (Full Service featuring Spectral Bob Ross)

Sat, 11 Sep 2021 17:00:00 +0100

Why 'Forgiving Your Enemies' Makes Weird Sense' - Part 2
Full Service feat Spectral Bob Ross
Season Three - Episode Four

Welcome one and all, to Creepy Cove Community Church! You are most welcome to join us as we continue out look at a most intriguing idea...that the concept of loving one's enemies makes a weird sort of sense.

Our church administrator Rupert Donk opens the service with some shocking news about two members of our 'Knit & Natter' group. They have fallen victim to Freddy Krueger who (as you will no doubt know by now) did NOT turn over a new leaf, despite promising to do so in the last service. So be careful out there, Covers!

We are then joined by a very special guest...the ghost of legendary oil painter Bob Ross. Yes, Spectral Bob will be chatting to us about painting and his love of nature...but does his love of the natural world go too far? Join us to see what you think.

Then it's over to Cora Hale, a werewolf and friend of Bob Ross, who shares a Bible reading with us...eventually. Then it's over to Peter Laws who talks to us about why loving enemies might not be as insane as it sounds.

After a time of meditation and prayer, it's over to our musical guests. Matt Isaac (featuring Ben Grundy on vocals) with their rousing and spooky rendition of 'What Is The Life Of  a Man'. For more on Matt, do check out his website: www.mattisaacmusic.com!

At the close of the service, Rupert reveals the new artwork that Spectral Bob has been painting throughout the service...but why does Rupert seem so ashamed of the image?

S3 Ep 3 'Why Forgiving Your Enemies Makes Weird Sense' - Part 1 (SERMON ONLY)

Sat, 28 Aug 2021 18:00:00 +0100

Why 'Forgiving Your Enemies' Makes Weird Sense' - Part 1
SERMON ONLY EDITION
Season Three - Episode Three

Please note that this is the SERMON ONLY edition. If you'd like to have the full experience...including an interview with Freddy Krueger and Jason Voorhees, then check out the FULL VERSION.

Peter Laws talks about the topic: 'Why Forgiving Your Enemies Makes Sense'. To be honest, it doesn't make a lot of sense, so we will be intrigued to see where he goes with this particular homilie.

After a moment of eerie prayer and meditation (based on the work of a writer called Corrie Ten Boom*), we hand over to a talented singer songwriter called Nathaniel Orr with his moving song: 'Have It Your Way'. “Nate is a singer-songwriter based in South Wales and is currently learning how best to serve career artists in their work. He trusts that God will teach and guide him to better understand the wounds in the art world and play a small part in helping to bring God’s healing.”

Tonight's topic can be a challenging one for many of us, and for those of us who have been hurt deeply, the idea of loving our enemies can understandably feel foolish or even cruel. We hope that the service does not pressure you in any sort of naive way, but rather we hope it might give some pointers for how your life might be improved. And if it's not for you, ignore it at your leisure!

Thank you for attending our windswept church on the peak!

*Note: Corrie Ten Boom did not write the hit 90s song Boom, Boom, Shake, Shake the Room. The actual scribes of that pop hit were none other than DJ Jazzy Jeff and The Fresh Prince.

S3 Ep 3 'Why Forgiving Your Enemies Makes Weird Sense' - Part 1 (FULL SERVICE Feat Freddy Krueger & Jason Voorhees)

Sat, 28 Aug 2021 17:00:00 +0100

Why 'Forgiving Your Enemies' Makes Weird Sense' - Part 1
Full Service feat Freddy Krueger & Jason Voorhees
Season Three - Episode Three

Welcome to Creepy Cove Community Church! If this is your first time, we forgive you for your heinous neglect...that's because forgiving your enemies actually makes some sense (even though it can also feel like naive insanity!) In this service we explore this topic with zest!

Our Church Administrator Ruper Donk opens proceedings with a surprising (and shocking) new seating plan. Then, he shares some exciting news about Mrs. Kitner's filthy sink hole that she has filled with water to enable locals to swim. Mrs Kitner lost her son Alex in an INCREDIBLY BLOODY demon shark attack last year. So she's providing alternative swimming opps for those too frightened of a beach dip.

Then it's over to an incredibly historic moment. For tonight, notorious, local mortality botherers, Jason Voorhees and Freddy Krueger have agreed to lay down their machete and knife glove - for they are coming together in a special 'Forgiveness & Reconciliation' Ceremony. It's a new day, and we are hopeful that it will all go as planned and the two rivals will be bowling together with laughter, soon.

Then, after a Bible reading from little, haunted Annabelle it's over to our minister Peter Laws who will talk to us about the topic: 'Why Forgiving Your Enemies Makes Sense'.

Season Three - Episode One

Welcome one and all to a new season of Creepy Cove Community Church. Yes, we're kick starting Season Three (gulp!) with a lovely service from the windswept church on the peak.

We open, as always, with a special welcome from our church administrator, Rupert Donk, who shares some exciting news that is sure to get the congregation's toes a tip-tap-tapping. Then, the atmosphere moves to a somewhat more sinister tone, when he shares some very sad news about a murder most foul, committed in the church itself!

After that, we're thrilled (and nervous) to invite local nurse and book lover, Annie Wilkes. She will share some health tips...but will she keep a steady mood? It's doubtful.

After a Bible reading from the eminent Professor Higgins, it's over to Peter who will explore tonights topic...'How To Stay Positive in a Negative World'. Note that this is part one of a two part series.

When he finally stops talking, we move into a time of prayer and meditation which simulates walking on fire (bimey), then it's over  to the church band who perform a brand new Horror Hymn called 'The Old House on the Hill.' It's a frantic song with a strident beat...and tells the tale of a young man who wanders into the clutches of an elderly couple...with fangs!

Well, after that Peter fangs people for coming...then after a little chat with Rupert...it's the end of the service where cocktails are immediately served.

S2 E10 Don't Beat Yourself Up (SERMON ONLY VERSION)

'Don't Beat Yourself Up'
SERMON ONLY  VERSION
Season Two - Episode Ten

Please note that this is the SERMON ONLY version of this episode which gets straight to the sermon (+ a meditation and song).  The FULL SERVICE,  includes all the horror and comedy drama elements.

Welcome to the final episode of Creepy Cove, Season Two! We'll be back after a short break, but we leave you with this slightly longer church service, that explores an important lesson in life...'Don't Beat Yourself Up'.

Namely...why can we be so quick to (rightfully) call out bullying when we see it...and yet we don't call it out when we are bullying ourselves? Trigger Warning: This talk very briefly mentions sexual abuse, but it doesn't linger on the topic.

Once Peter's talk is delivered, we have a wierd prayer and meditation time, based on David Cronenbergs mind bending Betamax movie...Videodrome.  Pretty sure this is the first time any church has themed a prayer session on that.

Then, it's over to the band who perform a new Horror Hymn based on both Videodrome, and the words of Ray Bradbury.

'Don't Beat Yourself Up'
Full Service feat Count Blacula + Videodrome Prayer and Meditation
Season Two - Episode Ten

Welcome to the final episode of Creepy Cove, Season Two! We'll be back after a short break, but we leave you with this slightly longer church service, that explores an important lesson in life...'Don't Beat Yourself Up'.

Our church administrator Rupert Donk, starts us off...by sharing some frightening news about what's on the church porch. Then the news turns to more positive fare, when we hear the latest on Rupert's neice...Ellen Ripley.

Our special guest tonight is none other than Count Dracula...but will he be his usual charming self...or slip into his nasty, bitey mode? And what power will a humble Tortilla Wrap have over him?

We have a Bible reading from Creepy Cove Patron, Juliet...then it's over to Peter to explore tonights topic.

Finally, Peter has a brief after service chat with Blacula, who wants to make an announcement to the entire congregation...whatever could it be?

In this service, our guest speaker Clare Cockerill  looks into the most intriguing question: 'Is God Male?' Then, after a time of meditation, it's over to our church band, for this week's Horror Hymn. This one's called 'Blender' and looks at how horror movies have sometimes been both forward thinking (and backward) when it comes to gender stereotypes.

Finally, Rupert comes to Peter with his phone on speaker...for he has managed to contact the filthy, evil Xenemorph who invaded the Nostromo. But why is he so dang sweet and friendly?

All that is left is to wrap up the service and that's that. Thanks again for coming to our wonderful church on the peak!

'Is God Male?'
Full Service featuring guest speaker Clare Cockerill and a Zoom Call with Ellen Ripley on the Nostromo'
Season Two - Episode Nine

Welcome to Creepy Cove Community Church, the friendly congregation on the windswept peak overlooking the notorious fishing town of Creepy Cove. This podcast episode features one of our full church services, with a talk, music, special guests, and more.

Our church administrator starts the service by introducing our topic 'Is God Male?' then he's happily interrupted by a couple of wee ankle biters from the congregation, Veronica and Malcolm. But what special powers do they possess?

Next, he explains all about the awful toilet incident in the last service. Sincere apologies to all involved. Then it's all excitement as Rupert engages in a Zoom Video Call all the way from Earth to space...for he interviews his beloved neice, Ellen Ripley, who is working on board the Nostromo at present, and is soon to be home. But will her news be happy or horrid? Tune in to find out.

After a brief Bible reading, it's over to our guest Clare Cockerill who looks into the most intriguing question: 'Is God Male?' Doubt (Part Three) - "The Dark Night of the Soul"
Full Service featuring Boris Karloff + Flora Wingrave from The Haunting of Bly Manor
Season Two - Episode Eight

Rupert kicks off tonight's service by blatantly asking people to consider signing up to our Patreon program? Pushy? Perhaps...but he explains how we simply cannot provide these Creepy Cove services for free without our lovely Patrons...we have 29 so far. Can you help us reach our first milestone of 50? Click here to find out all the extras you get...and remember you can cancel at any time.

After that, Rupert welcomes local horror icon and toilet fitter, Boris Karloff to the stage. He talks about the amazing renovation he has generously provided for the church latrines...but are his intentions entirely benevolent?

Once Boris has strolled back to his seat, it's over to little Flora Wingrave who reads our Bible verse for the week. But will she do a 'perfectly splendid' job of it?

Next it's over to Peter Laws, who concludes our three week series on 'Don't Let Doubt Freak You Out'. Tonight he explores those scary times when life makes little to no sense, often referred to as 'The Dark Night of the Soul.'

Don't Let Doubt Freak You Out (Part Two)
Full Service featuring Dr Sam Loomis from Halloween.
Season Two - Episode Seven

In tonight's service, Rupert apologises for and explains the reason for the chilly wind through the smashed rear window of the church! Brrr. Then after an update on the church burglary, he announces the churches involvement in the 'Scare in the Community' initiative, which will bring Michael Myers to our church on Thursday nights.

To put our minds at rest by this potentially worrying scenario, Rupert interviews Michael's physician, Dr Sam Loomis...who seems a little pessimistic about his own abilities. Poor fellow.

Then it's over to Michael's nurse, Marion Chambers for our Bible reading.

Peter then joins the gang to share a 'sermon' continuing our look at 'Doubt', and why questioning our own worldview doesn't have to be as unexpected or disorientating as we might think.

After a time of prayer and meditation (featuring a devastating storm), we hand over to the band who lead us in a slightly corny, yet hopefully pleasing Horror Hymn, entitled: "Let Your Life Be A Story of Change". Which sounds like a song from a musical or something, or something you'd see written on an inspirational postcard. And yet, it is our horror hymn this week...for it's verses mention Lon Chaney Jr and the changing use of the crucifix in vampire movies!

After that, Peter and Rupert have a brief chat about Michael Myer's visit on Thursday...but is Rupert appreciating the danger of this initiative?

Thanks again for coming to our wonderful church on the peak!

Season Two - Episode Four

We conclude series on how to improve our love relationships...not just the romantic ones! So please don't be put off this service if you are single or uninterested in Amore. For it remains relevant to us all!

Rupert starts the service by sharing some worrying news about the recent children's trip to the Poltergeist House...one of the church children have gone missing. Then it's happier news when local thespian Vincent Price treads on our church boards...but why is he so tetchy and confused...is it simply because Rupert is not communicating his appreciation in the most effective manner?

After this, we are delighted to say 'How Do' to Carolyn, who shares our Bible reading tonight. She comes all the way from the Green Man Inn, in the prettiest place to sacrifice a policeman...Summerisle.

Peter then talks to us about how he and his wife learned a nifty way to express love to one another in a meaningful way. After that, there's a Bladerunner style meditation, to help you focus and reflect.

To conclude our two-service exploration of love, the band lead us in a strident new number called, 'I Can't Get This Damn Love Thing Right...I Can't Take It...I Hate It.' Ho ho.

Accepting Your Own Body/ The Incarnation (FULL SERVICE) Feat Peter Cushing and Christopher Lee as Van Helsing and Count Dracula.

Sat, 09 Jan 2021 17:00:00 +0000

Accepting Your Own Body & The Incarnation
Season Two - Episode One

Yay! Welcome back to Creepy Cove Community Church, for our second season of super services. Sssss.

Our time together tonight begins with a welcome from the church administrator Rupert, who tells us all about the exciting annual festival here in Creepy Cove: ‘The Month of the Brain’. Up for a public debate this year is Dr. Van Helsing and local aristocrat/ philanthropist, Count Dracula. The good doctor even joins us in the service for an interview…but an interruption by the Count himself causes quite the fracas!

Next up we have our Bible Reading from one of our church ghosts: Rev. Verity Pemberton. Verity was forcibly hanged as a witch in the 17th century, just because she was a woman preacher! Honestly! But she now roams the halls of our church, giving out helpful advice to local businesses. Tonight she reads from the Bible…but is it safe with her around?

Peter then shares some thoughts on the subversive spiritual idea of 'The Incarnation' and asks how it might effect our view of not only a concept like God...but our own physical bodies.  He also asks a key theological question...how many times did Jesus get diarrhea?

Then, after a time of prayer and meditation based on our physical bodies it's straight into a bit of New Wave, synth punk for tonights horror hymn...which is inspired by David Cronenberg's phrase...'Long Live The New Flesh!'

Peter and Rupert wrap up the service...but what's this...Verity appears to be unleashed her fury at last!

Thanks for coming, everybody!

The Creepy Cove Christmas Carol Service, 2020 (Full Service)

Sat, 05 Dec 2020 00:00:00 +0000

Special Episode
The Creepy Cove Christmas Carol Service (2020)

We offer you the finest greetings of the season for this special recording of our Creepy Cove Christmas Carol Service.

It's a packed service filled with mirth, murder and merry Christmas feeling. We start with some words about Monroeville Mall's thrilling new Zombie Nativity Display called 'NIGHT....of the living God'. Then it's over to our first Creepy Carol - 'God Rest Ye Merry Gentleman'.

Then we move into our atmospheric candle lighting ritual, which is facilitated by the Firestarter herself...Charlie McGee. Once the candles and Christmas tree is on fire, we gather to sing that pretty festive song 'Oh, Christmas Tree'. Which reminds us even the the most homicidal of trees can still have lovely branches.

After that, it's our main feature of the night...'What A Strange Gift!' which is our very own retelling of the Christmas Nativity story featuring the following townsfolk in the top roles:

Jack Torrance (King Herod)
Wendy Torrance (King Herod's Servant'
Rosemary Woodhouse (Mary)
The Lost Boys (The Angels)

We then move into our rousing rendition of Silent Night, which we like to call 'Silent Night, Spooky Night', played in the style of the hop hop happening disco music the local youngers enjoy on Prom Night.

Next, Peter shares a few thoughts on the idea of goodwill at Christmas, then it's into our final song...We Wish You A Creepy Christmas. Listen through and see what horror characters you can spot referenced!

After that we check on Wendy, because she doesn't seem to moving. Oof.

I'd be grateful if you could check out my Patreon program, to see how you can support the show.

After the sermon, Peter leads us in a prayer and meditation which is based on the HP Lovecraft story...The Temple. Then it's over to 'Captain Blake and the Elizabeth Dane Men's Choir' who sing a sea shanty depicting how they were betrayed by the folks over at Antonio Bay...the greedy rotters!

You've Got To Laugh (Full Service) Pennywise the Dancing Clown from Stephen King's 'IT'

Sat, 10 Oct 2020 18:00:00 +0100

'You've Got To Laugh'
Season One - Episode Nine

In tonights service we explore a key ingredient for human and spiritual survival...laughter! Yes, it can be so easy to dismiss comedy and laughter as frivolous or trivial, but tonight we learn how essential it can be. To help us learn more about 'funny times' we are joined by a very special guest - Pennywise the Dancing Clown from Stephen King's IT. Though sadly, his alternative humour is somewhat lost on Rupert.

Next, we have a visitor to Creepy Cove, Alyisha Waz, who attempts to do our Bible Reading. Yet why does she struggle to complete the deed?

The sermon tonight comes from Peter Laws, who unpacks the power of and importance of 'having a proper good laugh'. Then he and Church administrator Rupert, lead us in an experimental time that combines meditation, prayer...and jokes.

The band take the stage to lead a toe-tapping new Creepy Cove Horror Hymn called - You've Got To Laugh. Can YOU spot all the horror references in every line.

Once the song is at it's completion, the service is drawn to an end for cocktails, but not before an unexpected visitor arrives, declaring his hatred for Pennywise. Who knew the dancing clown had such a well known nemesis.

We sincerely hope you enjoy your time at Creepy Cove this evening, and suggest that if you enjoy the show and want to support it (while also getting access to super cool, exclusive extras), then please point that clicker at the following locale...

Dealing with Worry - Part 2 (Sermon Only)

'Dealing With Worry - Pt 2'
Season One - Episode Eight

Please note that this is episode only contains a sermon, a time of reflection and a song. For the full service (complete with strange comedy, special guests and church notices like you've never heard before) click here.

Peter chats to us about worry and the idea of perspective in a sermon which mentions his daughter rolling around on the urine soaked floor of a public toilet. Perhaps the highlight of the entire service.

After that, we have a time of prayer and meditation, that will (kinda) transport you to a nightclub - where you can visualise taking each worry, and handing them over. When that is complete, it's straight in with a song called 'Help Me Find the Yeti.' A truly heartfelt ditty about how hard it can be to find perspective in the midst of our worries...that moment when we can say, 'this situation I am in is crap...and yet...maybe it's not the end of the world.' That 'and yet' can be as elusive as the Yeti. ha ha. Can you see what we did there, Covers?

Sat, 26 Sep 2020 16:00:00 +0100

'Dealing With Worry - Pt 2'
Season One - Episode Eight

In tonight's service we conclude our look at the topic of worry and particularly think about those worries that are truly worth worrying about. To help with that, we have a guest with plenty on his plate. Dr. Seth Brundle from 'The Fly' (1986) turns up, and discusses his recent transportation experiment that sadly went wrong, and is gradually turning him into a vomiting insect.

Then a shocking attack takes place in the church, so be warned! Not long after, we are delighted to have our Bible reading, from the bass player in our church band - Tom Price. Then Peter chats to us about worry and the idea of perspective in a sermon which mentions his daughter rolling around on the urine soaked floor of a public toilet.

Peter then chats to Seth for a while, up in the rafters of the church, and then that's it. End of service, for another week.

The Childishness of Adults (Full Service) Feat. Conal Cochrane of Silver Shamrock Novelties and Berberian Sound Studio Prayers

Sat, 15 Aug 2020 19:00:00 +0100

'The Childishness of Adults'
Season One - Episode Five

In this super hi-tech service, we welcome the 'Elon Musk of Creepy Cove', Conal Cochrane of Silver Shamrock Novelties in town. He's trialing an amazing new technology that affects YOU. So be sure to listen in (though you might need to guard your ears!)

We also have an update regarding our recent Shark Exorcism, with news of Father Michael and his cruciform dinghy. Freda Krueger provides our Bible reading this evening, though she should really keep her glove in check.

Peter then joins us to talk about 'The Childishness of Adults'. For adults can indeed, when you think about it, be rather immature. Note, Peter strongly puts himself in that category too.

Following this sermon we go experimental when Gilderoy from The Berberian Sound Studio in town, joins us. He 'treats' us to some anaolgue electronic soundscapes from his heady days with the BBC Radiophonic Workshop. The perfect accompaniment to a time of prayer and meditation. It's pretty internal, this one. You'll know what we mean when you hear it.

Finally, our church band lead us in a rousing rendition of 'Leaning on the Everlasting Arms'.

Sat, 18 Jul 2020 19:00:00 +0100

'Don't Let Fear Run Your Life!'
Season One - Episode Three

In tonight's episode we start with an exciting invitation (though we understand some of you in the church aren't keen).

Next, we hear some sad (and messy news) about our church cleaner. We also welcome Mr. Straker to our congregation. The church is helping to sponsor the grand opening of Barlow and Straker Antiques in town, so it's lovely to have him join us. Even if he is a little abrupt (only kidding, Mr. Straker! ho ho)

Little Ralphie Glick shares our Bible reading, and then in Peter's talk, he encourages us to not let fear run our lives. He also shares something that scared him in Florida, which is amusing, as many of us hear in the Cove thought it was not scary at all, when we went on our big Florida trip last winter. But anyway...we do not judge you Peter - and thanks for the encouragement!

Our church pianist, (the renowned composer John Russell) plays during our meditation and prayer, then our band close the service by leading us in a tender new song that was written especially for this service - 'I'm Scared of Werewolves'.

We do hope you enjoy our 'broadcast'! Do subscribe for more episodes, or join the congregation for even more shivers!

This episode is dedicated to the memory of our thirsty cleaner Shawna Brokenbridge (1988 - 2020) See you on the other side, Shawna!
