This week's tale is one of a ghost ship, the Mary Celeste, that washes ashore with no sign of life. The only sign of a struggle is a single missing lifeboat. All the bunks, empty. All the barrels half full, as if still in mid-voyage. No detective can put their thumb on the fate of all the men who manned the Mary Celeste. They write it off as a fraud.
A sole survivor of the Mary Celeste, M. Roland, washes ashore a month later. He's committed to the Howard Phillips Asylum for the Clinically Insane. Dr. Smith is running late to evaluate the patient.
