Chris Morton's stories have been described as being in the genres of slacker lit, sci-fi lit, sci-fi psyche, magical realism, and avant-garde. He is the author of three novels, six novellas, and over thirty short stories. An English teacher for twenty years, Morton is also the author of the teaching guide: 'TEFL Flashcard Games for Young Learners.'
Our wonderful Untold Tales Author Shamaan Casey was raised in Converse, TX. Growing up, he always watched a lot of animation, which gave him a deep appreciation for voice acting, which only grew as the years went on. Even from a young age, he had a voice that commanded the attention of others. Though not an attention seeker, he always noticed how heads would turn when he spoke, and he was often compared to James Earl Jones and Morgan Freeman, even in middle school. When he chose to pursue a career in culinary arts and work as a food salesman, everyday people would tell him that I should be in radio. With years of public speaking experience thanks to his religious ministry, he finally yielded to all of the advice he had received over the years and finally embraced getting into the world of voice-over by making audiobooks.
Now, he combines my vocal talents with his love of reading to help bring stories to life. When he's not reading, he's cooking, baking, or gaming. Whatever he's doing, he's got a story to tell.

Andrew J Lucas has contributed to books published by FASA, Dream Pod Nine, White Wolf Games, Rebel Minis and Atlas Games among others. He has twelve solo books for various RPG publishers and while his creative output is often blunted by his day job and the enthusiasm of his young daughter for distracting him, he does manage to get produce a few prime works each year. The last few years he has had a number of short stories published in various anthologies for publishers such as Outland Entertainment, Battlefield Press, and B Cubed Press. He also is working on a number of comic and graphic novel projects, which he is optimistic will be produced in 2022. When not working or writing he paints his wargame armies and occasionally finds time to field them in battle.

Caryn Larrinaga is a Basque-American mystery and horror writer. She has been a Dragon Award finalist and won multiple awards for her work, including the League of Utah Writers Silver Quill (Donn’s Hill, 2017) and the Cat Writers Association Certificate of Excellence (Donn’s Legacy, 2020). In 2021, she was named Writer of the Year by the League of Utah Writers.
Watching scary movies through split fingers terrified Caryn as a child, and those nightmares inspire her to write now. Her 90-year-old house has a colorful history, and the creaking walls and narrow hallways send her running (never walking) up the stairs. Exploring her fears through writing makes Caryn feel a little less foolish for wanting a buddy to accompany her into the tool shed.
Caryn lives near Salt Lake City, Utah, with her husband and their clowder of cats. Shattered Sky: In a fallen dystopian world where citizens pay for air and water, a heartbroken older sister perseveres in rescuing her younger sister from a human trafficking ring and realizes that the powerlessness of her past is what fuels the redemption of her future.
This short story is the precursor to the longer science fiction novel by Victoria Wieck called Shattered Sky, scheduled to be released in 2021. This episode is an adapted version of Chapter 62 in the longer novel.

"I was born. I’m told I was very little. Had to grow, but did so by tearing around the neighborhood crashing into things (trees can be tricky) or acting like each baseball game (or any game, for that matter) was a "winner take all" epic. And by reading. Plenty of short stories, particularly those in "Ellery Queen's Mystery Magazine" and "Boy's Life." Also comic books, tons and tons of comic books, along with science fiction by the truckloads. And anything else I could find, from "Newsweek" and "Reader's Digest" to "Highlights" and the encyclopedia. Started writing at 12, have kept at it since. Not as prolific as I like, but then again, whose fault is that? I say the trees, who have a record of 11-0 against me. On the other hand, my stories have appeared in thousands of printed pages, so maybe I have evened the score."

Andrew J Lucas has contributed to books published by FASA, Dream Pod Nine, White Wolf Games, Rebel Minis and Atlas Games among others. He has twelve solo books for various RPG publishers and while his creative output is often blunted by his day job and the enthusiasm of his young daughter for distracting him, he does manage to get produce a few prime works each year. He also is working on a number of comic and graphic novel projects, which he is optimistic will be produced in 2022. I have been trying to figure out the best way to communicate this through our social channels for the past month, and now we are down to the last day… Can you relate? I’ve had so much fun leading the charge as CEO of Dreamspeaker Media LLC, and the chief Host/Narrator of the Untold Tales Podcast for the past four years!
Life is taking me in a new direction, with new projects and new developments in my human life. :) So, as of today, July 31, 2024, I will be stepping down from my role at the Untold Tales Podcast and handing over the reigns to Jeff, my faithful co-founder and bringer-of-all-of-the-authors and stories.
While I am no longer a part of the production or social media team at The Untold Tales Podcast, you will hear my voice as a contributing Narrator on several upcoming stories, out until 2027. Welcome to the Age of Encore Presentations, here at the Untold Tales Audio anthology podcast. Jeff and I have learned so much about podcasting since we started this podcast in May 2020! We even created a company together, Dreamspeaker Media, so that Jeff and I could have ~our~ thing apart from Melissa Del Toro Voiceover which is just my thing.
Since then we’ve learned so much about you what you like and where you’re listening from. Most of our listeners are in the United States, but we see many of you out there in 60+ countries around the world. We learned through this podcast that you like listening to stories more than 15 minutes long. When we start this podcast, we wanted to give you short bite-size episodes that you could listen to 15-20 minutes at a time, but a lot of you are loving to listen to the 30 and 45 minute episodes in just one hit. So we took some of those multi episodes stories in the beginning of the podcast and we put them together in the ENCORE.
We’ve onboarded lots of new authors in the last four seasons, and we’ve been loving to get to know them and their stories. If you are a writer and you’ve submitted your stories and haven’t been chosen, thank you so much for submitting because we love reading your stories and some of them just don’t fit for what we’re doing now, but they might in the future.
One very big thing that you’ll notice is that we changed the channel artwork. That was feedback from you guys because you told us that our channel artwork really didn’t scream "science fiction". So ,we’ve revised it so that we could be a little bit more clear about what we do here at the Untold Tales podcast, which is produced short original science fiction stories.
This new production schedule of the Untold Tales podcast includes stories, narrated AND written by Jeffrey Robinson, as well as these encore presentations of previously beloved stories that we’ve remastered and taken some new approaches to. Many of those approaches were influenced by YOU and the things you’ve told us that you like about what we’re doing.
One of the things we’ve tried to do is keep this podcast ad free. However it does take a lot of time to produce a podcast so we really appreciate any donations that you make to our team they go along way and helping us keep the content high-quality and consistent. "I was born. I’m told I was very little. And by reading. Plenty of short stories, particularly those in "Ellery Queen's Mystery Magazine" and "Boy's Life." Also comic books, tons and tons of comic books, along with science fiction by the truckloads. And anything else I could find, from "Newsweek" and "Reader's Digest" to "Highlights" and the encyclopedia. Started writing at 12, have kept at it since. Not as prolific as I like, but then again, whose fault is that? I say the trees, who have a record of 11-0 against me. On the other hand, my stories have appeared in thousands of printed pages, so maybe I have evened the score."

Edna is beloved by everyone she meets and a devoted Nichirin Buddhist. She chants "Nam Myoho Renge Kyo" in an effort to further kosen rufu (world peace) and her own happiness, as well as the happiness of everyone around her. She was a devoted teacher in the Pittsburgh Public School system her entire 40 year career. But secretly, she has a passion for writing, reading and photography. One of the BIGGEST supporters of the Untold Tales podcast, we are excited to share her creative writing talents with you. This story is based off a very vivid dream that she had one April morning in 2023. Her eldest daughter (me) encouraged her to write it down and flesh it out. Shamaan was born in 1996 and raised in Converse, TX. Growing up, he always watched a lot of animation, which gave him a deep appreciation for voice acting, which only grew as the years went on. Even from a young age, he had a voice that commanded the attention of others. Though not an attention seeker, he always noticed how heads would turn when he spoke, and he was often compared to James Earl Jones and Morgan Freeman, even in middle school. When he chose to pursue a career in culinary arts and work as a food salesman, everyday people would tell him that I should be in radio. With years of public speaking experience thanks to his religious ministry, he finally yielded to all of the advice he had received over the years and finally embraced getting into the world of voice-over by making audiobooks.
Now, he combines my vocal talents with his love of reading to help bring stories to life. When he's not reading, he's cooking, baking, or gaming. Whatever he's doing, he's got a story to tell.

He has twelve solo books for various RPG publishers and while his creative output is often blunted by his day job and the enthusiasm of his young daughter for distracting him, he does manage to get produce a few prime works each year. The last few years he has had a number of short stories published in various anthologies for publishers such as Outland Entertainment, Battlefield Press, and B Cubed Press. He also is working on a number of comic and graphic novel projects, which he is optimistic will be produced in 2022. When not working or writing he paints his war game armies and occasionally finds time to field them in battle.

This is the first contribution by our newest Untold Tales author, Chris Morton! Chris Morton's stories have been described as being in the genres of slacker lit, sci-fi lit, sci-fi psyche, magical realism and avant-garde.

Time for something DIFFERENT! Please enjoy this episode of FLASH FICTION sci-fi stories. These stories have been proven even more difficult to write, and write well, than our longer stories - as well as novels and novellas. Writing short stories is a challenge.
It is harder to write a very short story than a long one, because every word becomes important.
“Perhaps the best example of this is the “six-word story”. Legend has it that Ernest Hemingway won a bet by writing the six-word story. He wrote:
“For Sale: Baby shoes. Never worn.”
It is amazing how few words can generate such emotive force.
Since then, numerous competitions are held annually that challenge writers to produce such ultra-short stories.
Indeed, since 2000 Flash fiction has become a special sub-genre of science fiction that does not receive nearly enough attention.”

Caryn Larrinaga is a Basque-American mystery and horror writer. She has been a Dragon Award finalist and won multiple awards for her work, including the League of Utah Writers Silver Quill (Donn’s Hill, 2017) and the Cat Writers Association Certificate of Excellence (Donn’s Legacy, 2020). In 2021, she was named Writer of the Year by the League of Utah Writers.
Watching scary movies through split fingers terrified Caryn as a child, and those nightmares inspire her to write now. Her 90-year-old house has a colorful history, and the creaking walls and narrow hallways send her running (never walking) up the stairs. Exploring her fears through writing makes Caryn feel a little less foolish for wanting a buddy to accompany her into the tool shed.
Caryn lives near Salt Lake City, Utah, with her husband and their clowder of cats. Shattered Sky: In a fallen dystopian world where citizens pay for air and water, a heartbroken older sister perseveres in rescuing her younger sister from a human trafficking ring and realizes that the powerlessness of her past is what fuels the redemption of her future.
This short story is the precursor to the longer science fiction novel by Victoria Wieck called Shattered Sky, scheduled to be released in 2021. This episode is an adapted version of Chapter 62 in the longer novel.
Victoria Wieck is the epitome of the rags to riches American dream story. She immigrated from South Korea to America with her parents with only thirty dollars and has built a multi-million dollar business with over $500 million in retail sales. After a series of corporate jobs, Victoria started her own company in 1989 on a shoestring budget to spend more time with her family. She has founded several other successful businesses since then. She’s worked with a wide variety of retailers world-wide ranging from major department stores to duty free stores, as well as internet and TV retailers.
For the past 22 years (19 years on HSN, and 3 years on Shop HQ), Victoria has been sharing her jewelry designs with millions of viewers during her own monthly shows. She has built her highly successful business following her passion for jewelry, without sacrificing her family life. Timeless Stray: Investigators in Victorian England are hired to find out whether a fortune teller is real or if she is a charlatan. In any case, sometimes the future should just be left alone.
This is the first story by one of our first NEW Untold Tales authors, Gil Schmidt. Gil introduces himself here...
"I was born. I’m told I was very little. Had to grow, but did so by tearing around the neighborhood crashing into things (trees can be tricky) or acting like each baseball game (or any game, for that matter) was a "winner take all" epic. And by reading. Plenty of short stories, particularly those in "Ellery Queen's Mystery Magazine" and "Boy's Life." Also comic books, tons and tons of comic books, along with science fiction by the truckloads. And anything else I could find, from "Newsweek" and "Reader's Digest" to "Highlights" and the encyclopedia. Started writing at 12, have kept at it since. Not as prolific as I like, but then again, whose fault is that? I say the trees, who have a record of 11-0 against me. On the other hand, my stories have appeared in thousands of printed pages, so maybe I have evened the score."
