Sylvia and Mickey learn a very disturbing history of Cancer which could reveal more than they bargained for. In Railways West, Iron Rose, is hiding out in New Orleans...alone. She can feel the presence of Detective Blackjack Boyle lurking as wanted posters with her name appear everywhere she goes. Some clues indicate that Blackjack is also being hunted for his dark past. Derail has vanished and Mister Slipshady has shown up from out of nowhere.

Mickey takes Sylvia on an old fashioned carriage ride through the golden hills to the Hickawah Tribal Nation. There they meet Wise Owl, who produces some magic from the flames to aid Sylvia in her impending date with destiny.
In Railways West, Derail and Iron Rose, arrive at Madam Millie's place deep in the back woods of Arkansas. The aging lady of the night flirts with betrayal as she spills her broken connection to Detective Black Jack Boyle.

The Hickory Springs Harvest Festival of 1959 is in full swing as Sylvia begins to devise a plan that will save Mickey and alter the future, forever. At the Bee-Hive Diner Sylvia learns that Rosie is in fact, Iron Rose, and that she has a few secrets and scores to settle. When Cancer unexpectedly arrives for an early showdown, the two women become a united front.

Sylvia enters into the world of Hickory Springs in 1959. She is in her thirteen year old body with her sixty-three year old mind. Mickey and George take her to the Bee-Hive Diner to figure out why she is acting so strange. Her childhood nemesis, Cancer, catches her alone eager to settle an old score. Sylvia is feeling as if she not up to the task of beating Cancer and saving Mickey.
In Railways West, Rose is now a fugitive of the law. She meets Mister Slip Shady and his imaginary dog, Cholly, who tells her that Black Jack Boyle will stop at nothing until she is captured. Slip Shady tells arms her with the hobo code and her new name...Iron Rose.

A vicious tornado tears up the wasteland and chases Sylvia into the tunnel that will take her back to her youth in yesteryear.
