In the meadows east of the plateau that was once old Waterdeep, between the River and South gates, is a road named the Southcliff Way. It’s generally quiet, with only a few side roads coming off to the east, mostly leading to farms. But three months ago, on a warm spring evening, one particular home became a hotbed of activity.

While we want to believe our leaders are more progressive, more civilized, and less corruptible, the subterfuge, deceit, and hunger for power we see today hasn’t changed much over the centuries. I’d be willing to guess it hasn’t changed much since the creation of the elder species. Be it monarchs or elected officials, once they have a taste for power, they’ll stop at nothing to keep it.

Coming out of an old set of ruins, a group of adventures ragged, tired, but happy with their spoils come across a lone man on a horse on the road. The man, described only as having pointy ears, was interested in what the adventures had. But in reality he was only interested in one item and one item alone. Believing it to be fortuitous, the adventurers, eager to make some coin quickly, departed with a single piece of parchment. And what was on that parchment could shape the political landscape of the region for years to come.

S1E1 - The Hilp Murders

For such a small town with a reputation of being a lovely place to live, to have a series of murders transpire in such a short amount of time, with no answers, has left a permanent scar on the town of Hilp. Its denizens have expressed how heavily this weighs on them, and hope that it doesn’t scare visitors away.

Both local investigators and special agents from Suzail continue to dig through evidence and look for new leads, but still find themselves with more questions than answers.
