He must fight, level up and discover things about the past.
But living in a game world doesn't mean he can escape his problems in the real world.

I can't believe it. After 8 months of work, a group of us from reddit along with myself were actually able to finish of an entire musical.
In retrospect, making an entire 2 act musical was maybe a bit much. If we do it again we'll set our expectations to be a little more reasonable.
One thing I never expected was how quickly someone could appear and disappear on the internet.
I wrote music and lyrics for at least 2 of these songs. Make a comment and let me know if you can figure out which ones.

This is the story about how a group of redditors got together and wrote an entire musical. Since I was the one with the experience of putting together a musical demo, I led a lot of the work.
We started 8 months ago. We came up with a bunch of ideas and voted on a theme.
The winner was horror comedy - the runner up was Norse setting. So we decided to do a horror comedy set in Sweden in the 70s with a Norse monster.
We put together the standard plot of a horror comedy, with all the tropes. I was so glad we had the framework.
We wanted our characters to be really interesting. So we had the entire group come together to edit our characters!
The group added so many interesting details. Some weird ones too. We decided we would roll with it!
We had 15 different songs to write.
So we let anyone who would be willing to write one come in and try. Some succeeded some had life get in the way.
The 15 songs had 8 different musicians.
And 12 different lyricists.
We had a bunch of zoom calls to write the script. It was cool to collaborate with people from high school students to professionals!
Our script ended up being 54 pages long. Special thanks to the guy who put it all together!
We wanted to hear it performed. So we sent out a casting call.
We are so grateful to everyone who responded. I wish we could have cast everyone!

Eric has a dreary life on a distant moon. He’s sick and poor. His father abandoned him and his sister hates him. Only his mother really gets him.
His only form of escape is a virtual reality video game, Space Traders online. He loves his life in the game more than anything. However, he never progresses. Whenever he has a chance to level up, he sells his gains to help his mother.
His luck changes in a chance battle.

Ensign Phillips is a gun happy space marine. Unfortunately his robot commander hates his attitude and sends him to the worst place in the entire space force.
As he wallows in boredom his robot cat alerts him to a derelict ship on a collision course. Ensign Phillips needs to figure out what has happened to the missing crew before it is too late.
