Gathered in the Turanian city of Sultanapur, the Aesir girl Loviisa and her companions Roños the Zamorian thief, the Poitanian swordmaster Renyard Durand and the mysterious Valacious search for the vile slaver Milos who has Loviisa’s father.
Meanwhile, having recently left Sultanapur, the Turanian agent Madhedai, the savage Odored and the wild-eyed mystic Mofir travel with a hostage intending to trade him for a captured Turanian general.
