Our adventurers find their way into the depths of Hades while the master of the underworld is away. His underlings are doing their best to dispatch these trespassers but they aren't likely to succeed. There are some unexpected visitors in the throne room of Hades's castle who offer up a premonition of the future but can they be trusted?Finally our adventures must make their escape from the underworld before Hades himself catches up to them while they get away with their snatched loot!

When your busy editing podcasts to make sure that content keeps streaming out to the legions of loyal listeners on the internet but your niece turns 15 and all she asks for is to play some DND with you. You drop everything and put together some DND for that girl's birthday. Naturally I started prepping a game right away based on feedback from Tiffany that they had just been watching the Hercules movie. This first episode is based roughly on the fight with the centaur.
EP75 – Breaking into the Temple

Neim Cave Painting: We fight shadow person. Smash him with axe. Was good fight. Cleff likes bananas, makes me like banana too! All that stands in the way of our feywild adventurers is this shadowy temple guardian. The statues have been destoryed, but there's definitely a trick to the way this guardian fights. Perhaps they can figure it out before he manages to kill everyone's favorite character... Rain the griffin. Once the party gets inside what will they find? What has become of Asharis, Ghost Slinger, Merlin and Raal. Especially considering Asharis and Raal were both suffering from the negative effect that prolonged exposure to the shadowfell can have on you. Will Awen and her team of Fey companions make it? I can't wait to find out! What's this... Light at the end of the tunnel? Well, perhaps darkness as we have reached the end of another wonderful season of DND Tonight. It seems our stand-in heroes are reaching the end of their journey. They have made it all the way to the temple atop the pyramid which Asharis, Ghost Slinger and Merlin managed to get trapped in and Awen can see the light of their spirits shining through the planes to her. There's only one problem. There appears to be a guardian and they aren't going to just let the feywild crew just walk in without a fight. There seems to be some trickery going on here as well? EP73 – Crossing the Lake to the Glacier

Our feywild friends and their Paladin companion make their way to the Glacial Glade and the town of Skyfall only to find a swirling lake with a glacier at the center and ice closing in all around them. The helpful green Aarakocra that they saved from death in the snow suggests that they row out to the glacier they are so intent to visit in ceremonial canoes. You know what that smells like to me? A SKILL CHALLENGE!
EP72 – Making way to Glacial Springs

Our heroes build an embankment against the freezing cold and Awen uses a rather unique solution to get the fire started in order to warm up this green bird man whom was slowly freezing in the snow. Once he awakens he expresses concern that the forest is freezing over and it will only get worse if they try to make their way to Skyfall the Aarakocra village at the edge of the lake. Through some rather unorthodox persuasion they convince him to lead them through the snow storm as he can act as their guide and pick out the way posts through the blizzard.Unfortunately Awen seems to be struggling with her concentration for some unknown reason. It's almost like the magic of the Feywild isn't agreeing with her material plane senses. When they reach Skyfall Awen can't focus enough to tell if her missing friends are nearby. Thankfully Neam has a plan to go to the glacier and open a door. Neam Cave Painting: Find bird people live in birdy houses in the trees.

On this nail-biting entry into the DND Tonight annals our heroes heroes have to find a way to pacify a raging banshee. After which the weather seems to start turning even more unusually cold for this time of year. A snow storm soon blows in making it difficult for them to continue on their way. Things just keep looking worse and worse as they come upon a lump in the snow. It appears to be another adventurer almost frozen to death.

This time our heroes heroes must confront a terrifying undead minotaur . In the opening strike of the battle Awen faces down it's charge and in seriously wounded but with the help of her fey friends together I'm sure they will be victorious. Our hero rescue squad find themselves suddenly surrounded by a field of flowers that weren't there when they went to bed. As they walk it seems as if the field is changing around them. They have lost their way from the path they were following but with some quick thinking they should be able to get back to the path. Eventually they make their way to a little straw cottage where they are greeted with a sound that they've never heard before... Mariachi Music. It seems that the work of our heroes in the shadowfell has been having a positive effect on those they've met. Here they meet a friendly Pig named Samson, definitely not Hamson. He gives them a friendly warning about not sleeping under a tree with sad leaves before they continue on their way. Our party has set out into the wilds of the feywilds so naturally the first thing they come across is some unnatural river of nectar which has a shrinking spell all around it to try and keep neerdowells from making off with the sweet syrup. Our seconds team of heroes must make their way across a river of the stuff while they are shrunk down to only 3" tall. What trials are in store for our very tiny party? Listen in to find out! Neim Cave Paintings: I was so tiny today that I used a blade of grass as a bridge to get across a lake which was only the size of a puddle. Then a button made me big again. So that's fixed.
EP67 – Awen Gathers Adventurers

A new story unfolds, unbeknownst to our heroes. Shortly after they were stolen away to the shadowfell by the fowl mechanization of Zabuza it seems Argal reached out to put together a rescue party. Awen rises to the call and begins on her quest to rescue the Chosen of Bahamut. It isn't long before she finds help in some unlikely fey allies. The satyr barbarian Neim and a pixie bard named Cleff. As long as the chosen do not loose hope the light of Bahamut will shine through to these unknown allies in the feywild! Uh Oh. Neim Cave Pantings: Owl Bear try eat tiny wing people Neim eat owl bear.

The time is finally here a huge dinosaur statue four adventurers trapped deep in the depths of a dungeon seemingly no way out. Nothing but their wits and their weaponry to see them through to safety. The weight of the shadowfell despair is starting to weigh heavy upon their hearts. Will they win the day or succumb to the vile trap which they find themselves in? Lets listen in and find out! Merlin Journal: I am still sore all over. We faced off against a monstrous reptilian statue. Unfortunately I couldn't get out of the way of it's charging attack. The beast ran me down like a rampaging bull. Gored me with one of it's horns and then trampled over me. I feel as if only the mystical healing light from the elf Asharis brought me back from the brink of death. I lightning bolted the things horn clean off it's head when I woke up. Unfortunately that's just the start of our troubles. The air in the temple has stopped moving. That blasted Zabuza has sealed the temple. I must rest to recover my strength then I shall set to studying this seal, perhaps we can find a way out.
EP65 – It’s up to you to find a way out

Our heroes are still in the dark gray of the temple in the shadowfell. Finding themselves in the room with the artifact that they have been seeking. They decide that it is unwise to touch it without knowing exactly what traps and hidden triggers may be inside the alter chamber. Best to have a plan of escape. This means that they have several more side passages to investigate before moving forward. Much reprehension and worrying later does Ghost Slinger finally face Zabuza? Listen in to find out. Alter Room Exploration, every passage that the party found they explored. Merlin Journal: We've made it to the artifact that Argal sent us here for. It feels like a trap. I don't want to touch it until we have a plan for how to escape.

Our heroes find themselves traveling slowly through this dark place, cautious that around every corner could be a trap waiting to catch them unaware. However that's not enough to sap their spirits. Not even the Shadowfell despair has gripped them. Ghost Slinger even finds time to play an Oogie Boogie on Asharis. Right after she narrowly avoids getting run over by a runaway bolder.Oh Merlin's journal is in color this week. Strange he must not have been able to tell that he picked up the colored quill ink because the shadowfell has no color. Behind the DM screen: This is what the party has seen of the temple so far. Except that big room behind the fancy door. They are waiting just outside the big room with the fancy door. Can't wait until they find out what is inside.

Inside this new mysterious room they find that they have encountered it before. It is the same room which was trapped and almost took off Ghost Slinger's arm in the last episode. Once inside entering through the secret entrance behind a statue an illusory message plays. Who left this message? You'll have to listen in and find out. "Don't smack the lizard."Ghost Slinger after smacking the lizard statue Continuing on our heroes find a new and mysterious room full of tiny creatures shouting "Ghost Slinger, Ghost Slinger, Ghost Slinger, Ghost Slinger." That can't be good right? Merlin Journal: These paths seem to wind on forever and we have found them to be full of traps and illusions. Danger lies around every corner. To top things our party seems to be suffering from the ill effects of the Shadowfell already. Ghost Slinger seems to be taking it the worst. Our heroes find themselves trapped in the dark. They will have to work together to find their way to the artifact hidden within while dodging traps and not loosing their footing. This also marks the beginning of a new style of DMing for a while, it's our first real dungeon. Which means I can share with you the Dungeon Map! Dashiki Sunken Temple Path: The Red arrow is the entrance to the temple. The Green path marks the path which is well worn by the temple's prior inhabitants. Orange marks the path which our heroes traversed these ancient stone floors. Dungeon Key: Each level of the Dungeon also has a Key for what the various things that the players may find as they make their way through is. This week our players have climbed up out of the literal muck of the bog to ascend the stepped terraces of an ancient temple of a long lost Deity. Who knows what they will find within it's walls. Who knows what fiendish pitfalls and traps may lay within. Only one thing is for certain. The stone pointing to the next artifact that they must recover is pointing towards the core of this temple so they must explore it's secrets. Our Heroes find themselves undisturbed by a ghost, then they find their way closer and closer to something that stinks. I sure hope no one falls into that nasty slimy water. Especially since the path keeps diverging and everyone is getting tired. Merlin kept track how the hidden pathway through the mire progressed so that they might be able to make a quick exit if needed.

Battle is done with the ancient armor that had stalked this place. Now our heroes must rest and regain their strength. There is a tent nearby which could hold further enemies. They will wait until their strength is recovered to investigate it. What wonders will the find inside, more questions than answers. Merlin Journal 1: We have come upon a tent ravaged by the ages of time. We fear exploring inside until our strength is recovered. Merlin Journal 2: Within the tattered canvas I have discovered a most fabulous box of potions, however as we slept I was awoken by something outside.

Raal is out of magic and his quarter staff hurts when he hits you with it but not enough to do much damage. How will our heroes keep him safe while fending off these magical automatons. Don't worry Ghost Slinger has a plan. She's gonna stab them!Asharis, Blinky, Ghost Slinger and Merlin have a few other tricks up their sleeve, but what's this, so do the enemy! Our party of adventuring gals find themselves wandering down a long and dusty road following a magic stone, but something has overtaken their friendly Kobold companion he's just not his usual chipper self. Merlin will have to use his magic to power the guide stone from here on and it doesn't always seem to know which way to go. There seems to be something in the mists ahead. Finally breaking through the desolate ashen desert they find what seems like sand. Great an actual desert. Perhaps Brightstone really is the best place in the Shadowfell.

Our heroes have followed Raal's magical stone to a village in the Shadowfell and it seems rather quaint, almost nice even. It's a welcome respite from the harsh roads of the shadowfell that they have seen so far, but something's not quite right about the place. Still when you're low on supplies and forced into a plane of shadows any place the sun shines is a good place to rest up, right?

Our heroes seem to need to pass through a desolate forest made from the bones of long dead creatures. Some of these skeletons rival the size of dragons. What is this terrible place? We got things kicked off late tonight but diligent as ever we made sure to get you an episode. Tonight our Heroes fight the bats from last week that swarmed them while they were making camp. How will the fair? It's anyone's guess but one things for sure. They wont be bright eyed and bushy tailed in the morning. The Shadowfell is already starting to take a toll on them. Merlin Journal: We were beset by bats in the night, yet our luck holds out as we drove them away.
EP52 – Dungeons and Distractions

This one is an oddball our normal recording time was plagued by distractions where one of our players kept getting called away from the game. I did as much as I could in editing to try and keep it fun. There's only about 30 minutes of game play but if you like silly accents from a DM who's doing their best then it is definitely worth a listen. Also we've got a cameo from Grandma. Our heroes do manage to travel through the Shadowfell following along to a seemingly unfazed Raal with a magic stone on a string to guide them. Set up a camp site near an ominous forest and take watch as half night falls.

This week our band of adventurers finds themselves facing off against some not so friendly ghosts. If they can get past these spirits haunting them then what's next how will they find the last Artifact? Don't worry it sounds like Raal has a plan. Hi Everyone! Picking up with another big recap since the end of the last episode got cut off. Our heroes stepped through a portal guided by the friendly Kobold Raal during a ritual to contact the Dragon God Bahumat. They find themselves at the top of a very different set of cliffs by the sea. There they meet Argal, who is glad to see that they have recovered another artifact. As a reward, and to boost their strength to capture the next and possibly final artifact the Dragon imbues each of their weapons with his dragon fire magic. The path has been cleared by Asharis and Ghost Slinger's friend Dargon. It should be a cake walk to reach the location of the final artifact, but what is this? Zabuza planned a trap! Our adventures are in the midst of battle this week. On their way to find a Dragonborn who may be able to help reach out to the dragon, Argal. They have made their way to the top of the Abeardean cliffs where Harpies seem to have charmed the Hippogriff who usually reside there. Defeating the harpies they uncover a badly wounded and hiding dragonborn. She is a Paladin of Bahumat and performed a ritual to communicate with Bahumat. Strangely at the completion of the ritual a portal opened and Raal popped his head through to encourage our heroes to come to the feywild. Merlin Journal: Critical record keeping by Merlin this week as a critical part of the adventure was lost to the fickle goddess of technology.

Merlin Journal #47: Multi Facet Orb - 3 charges of Clairvoyance, recovers d3 charges after a long rest. This week our heroes get to be heroes! They are rewarded for their hard work after slaying the evil in the depths below Aberdean. The Lord of the dwarves summons them to give them a personal thank you, while Ghost Slinger decides she'd rather disguise herself as a tree. Where to next? There's a rumor about a Dragonborn running about outside the city, maybe they know something about Bahumat that can help the party.

Our heroes follow the skeleton chain gang along their route and find where the stolen gems and ore are being taken. They find the artifact that they are looking for and of course they find trouble too. Then the fridge starts leaking in the real world and everything comes to a screeching halt. Our heroes get quite a bit done this week. They start out making their way through the darkness of the abandoned mines only to find out that they aren't abandoned once you go deep enough, they just aren't full of dwarves anymore. Sneaking further into the depths they make their way into a bucket lift lowering gems and ore into the darkness below. There they save a family of cave fungii who were caught up in the undead hoard. Finally they reach the bottom of the pit where all color seems to be sucked out of the world around them. What is at the heart of all this undead activity? Our heroes are about to find out!

I'm honestly not really sure where this title came from but that's what it is in my notes so that's what it is. Our heroes are headed into the Gem mines of Aberdean right after they deal with these pesky skellies. Merlin decides to check out these glowing lanterns and Ghost Slinger is the only one who can roll above a 4. Sounds about normal. This art was the inspiration for the dwarven drawbridge. I am sorry it is too low res for me to make out the signature and give proper credit. If you do know the artist please let me know so I can link to them. It is a wonderful image. Brandon Branderson the handsome dwarf joins our elven adventurers on a short quest to buy a katana for Ghost Slinger, while Merlin is seeing to finishing up some potion work and checking on the progress of his magical stone from Scale Ridge. After they finish their preparation they have to choose to follow through on going into the mines or head up to the top of the cliffs to check on the Hippogriffs. Which way will they go? Merlin wakes up in dwarf jail and Ghost Slinger needs to figure out how she's going to get around town. What with not knowing what the dwarves are talking about. Asharis has a gift to give to the Lord of Aberdean. Hopefully they can figure out how to explain that Merlin just really likes books, and wasn't trying to hurt the guards at the door. Starting the day as a criminal, a stowaway and an elf on the inside, the group finishes the day as the Chosen of Silver

We start off today with a thorough recap by yours truly since my capture software missed the back half of the episode, but you wont want to miss this one. The dwarves at the gate are tested by Merlin as they take his book and he is adamant that he will have it back. Ghost Slinger sneaks, Asharis managed to talk her way in, but Merlin we'll he's going to jail. At least they are past the gates, right? Merlin's Journal: It seems he's been locked up and can't use his hands so most spells are out of his reach.

Our heroes have control over their course again The rudder is fixed thanks to the hard work of Dilly and Londor, but there's that creepy fog that has been showing up the last two nights. Something is wrong with Ghost Slinger in this episode. It's got something to do with pickles. She's weird but we'll get through it together. The Intrepid is damaged. We're taking on water, the donkeys might have been hurt and there's still the threat of Ghost Pirates. This has been a dangerous whale watching trip, for sure. Merlin's Journal for the Episode. When last we left off our heroes had an unexpected dinner guest. A Giant Squid grabbed onto the intrepid and wouldn't let go as it chewed through the wooden ship trying to grab our adventurers. How are they going to get away? Is the Intrepid going to be alright? Will they make it back to shore? Only one way to find out. Gotta listen to this Episode of DnD Tonight! So our heroes have made it to Ghyll. Now they have to figure out how they are going to get their boat through Ghyll's locks and down into the lower city. Maybe they shouldn't take their river boat out into the ocean? Ghost Slinger seems to think she has a way that they can get through without paying because she's very persuasive. Our heroes come upon a small fishing village and they have a goal to get down the river. how will they manage that? Will Ghost Slinger cause a bunch of trouble for them? Somehow I feel like a pig might be involved.

Our heroes are on their way out of Scale Ridge with a mission. They need to find these artifacts to make sure that the Shadowfell doesn't break through into the material plane. Our heroes are back in the Material Plane and if everything worked they should have far fewer Orks in their path. Now they just have to make it through the forgotten city back to the top of the mountain. That shouldn't be so tough.

Our heroes have reached the Lizardfolk and now they need to continue on with their plan to draw the attention of the Orks into the Feywild. That should leave the path clear in Scale Ridge on the Prime Material plane. But Ghost Slinger is only concerned with one thing, Where's Zabuza?

Our hero's went to sleep again so naturally that means they show up in the Feywild with a task they need to complete. Raal says they need to draw the Orks away from Scale Ridge that means drawing them to the Feywild. Hopefully, that will give our heroes a chance to sneak back into the material plane and free the dragon Argal.

The green Kobold Raal leads the party into the mountain through a secret entrance where their donkeys will be safe. Making their way into the mountain through small Kobold tunnels. It seems that the tunnels are empty, until they run into Orks. A hasty decision later they are in a runaway mine cart headed deeper into the belly of the mountain.

SNOW! It's early spring in Angland, but heading north into the mountains there's still plenty of cold weather to be had. Our friends find themselves in Draycott meeting a whole host of new people. They learn about how Draycott used to be rich, when they made their living hunting dragons. The Orks plundering the mountains wouldn't have stood a chance against the castle knights back then.

That knocking is back. How's an adventurer meant to get any sleep around here. Thankfully our infallible DM may have forgotten that Merlin didn't cast that spell but it works out in the end. Who's this mysterious hermit? Why, she has pies lets buy some. Oh and she seems to know some things she couldn't know. Our party ends at a cross roads and makes the decision to head to Draycott Castle.

Asharis and Ghost Slinger find themselves in the dreamscape of the Feywild again. They are greeted by a large Dragonborn who tells them of the dire situation that the land is in. There's a caster holding a barrier up around the castle to keep the Undead Dragon at bay, but Orks are swarming the walls. If they interrupt the caster it will spell the end for our heroes and their scaly new friends. Audio gets a little dicey at the end. I tried to fix it but it's a very manual process. Anyone who makes it to the very end gets a surprise from Ghost Slinger.
EP18 – Knocking in the Windmill

With a greater understanding of the amulet that Ghost Slinger has been carrying the party moves north out of the woods. They come upon a series of farm houses that are seemingly housed by just the nicest families. And everyone wants the travelers to stay the night in their home. They get a warning when they continue the next day about a windmill further up the road. Each family has a house as unique as them. These are some of the reference images that I used in my notes.

Still somewhat confused by what's going on that's causing the animals of the woods to be aggressive, the party finishes their journey to Brentwood where they are planning to grab supplies and head out on a far more difficult trip to Scale Ridge. But maybe they have a new ally for the trip.

After being run out of Wight our heroes are on the road again with little sleep under their belts and a long way to Brentwood. It will take them a couple of days travel to get back to the safety Brentwood. They keep a eye on the road behind them as they move, hoping to avoid any unwanted attention.

Some unknown person is in danger. Evil in Wight. Danger could be around any corner. Sounds to me like a quest is about to begin, but first Ghost Slinger needs a new hat.

The party has made their way to Wight. They found out that Magics need to be approved to be used, but they got a good night sleep at the Stone Haven Inn so what will they do with the day ahead. Why not explore a creepy church to an unknown deity. Catacombs make for a great DND exploration location so I grabbed some screen shots to help with setting the scene.
