Welcome to the Socially-Distanced Table!
Wed, 29 Apr 2020 21:00:00 +0000
After a multi-year hiatus, we're back! In this time of self-isolation, theatre has been one of the many casualties of a stalled global economy. We felt that we needed to do our part to keep new theatre alive in dark times, and we hope you'll join us on that journey.
What's coming is a new mini-series of 10-20 minute plays from fantastic playwrights produced during self-isolation with actors all over the globe.
It's going to be messy, it's going to be fun, it's going to have laughs and tears, but most importantly, it will be new art which we happen to think is Essential. Thanks for joining our table, and be safe.

Lydia’s just looking for a one-night stand, and so she’s met a cute guy at a bar and brought him back to her apartment. But now things keep getting in the way. Like the fact that they could hardly be more different (she’s forty, he’s twenty-eight; she’s black, he’s white; she’s a New Yorker and he’s from the Midwest). And the fact that he’s still not over his ex. And the fact that her apartment might very well be haunted. A play about ghosts–both literal and otherwise–and the ways we try to move forward. Also quick note: Had some technical issues with the recording of the interviews at the end of the episode and very unfortunately we failed to capture Karissa. You can still hear her but you'll notice she is noticeably in the background....sorry Karissa! We'll have to get you back on the show soon for a proper interview.

*CONTENT WARNING* This episode features extremely strong language, including terms that are historically transphobic and ableist. Be advised.
If you've even been lost in the woods with two adults, five Boy Scouts, an infinite amount of coyotes and three bags of marshmallows, Troop 54 might hit too close to home. A comedy about find your way through the woods, will the scouts find their way back to base camp or will they fall into a cavern? I forgot to mention there's a cavern. Once described as "what did I just watch?" Troop 54 is an ab workout and a theatrical experience not to be missed!
