She’s narrated dozens of spicy romances, but nothing prepared her for weaponizing the “forced proximity” trope in real life. One meddling sister, one hot neighbor, and a whole lot of cheese dip. Welcome to the romcom multiverse.
It's Romcom meets meta-fiction, with a wink at Hallmark-style setups and a dash of Gen-Z snark. Think To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before meets Emily Henry by way of Fleabag.

Meet Shannon—the romance audiobook pro who can’t help but turn her sister’s love life into a trope-filled masterpiece. Lumberjacks, cheese dip, and a healthy dose of lunacy ensue.

Welcome to The Romcom Formula — an audio comedy for anyone who’s ever swooned over a meet-cute, rooted for the slow burn, or binged an entire Hallmark movie marathon in one sitting.
In our very first episode, romance audiobook narrator Shannon decides to test her favorite rom-com tropes in real life. Her grand plan? Manifest a love story between her overworked sister Claire and the handsome, tool-belt-wearing neighbor Tony — the ultimate handyman with main-character energy.
Can Shannon’s “Rom-Com Manifestation Plan” turn forced proximity into true love? Or is this about to go full-on pop culture-fanfic-meets-Hallmark-holiday-movie mayhem?
Expect laughs, longing, and lovingly ridiculous tropes — from awkward meet-cutes to DIY disasters — in this mix of romantic comedy, audiobook satire, and romantasy-adjacent chaos.
Perfect for fans of romcom movies, book lovers, chronically online millennials, and anyone who believes love stories are better with a narrator who meddles.

02. Forced Proximity...and Queso
Thu, 29 Jan 2026 10:30:00 GMT
In this episode of The Romcom Formula, Claire navigates a job transition and recovers from an injury while Shannon insists she spend time at her house.
Shannon’s meddling hits Phase Two: she ropes her sister into watching her kids for a week while she and her husband Brian are away on work trips — conveniently putting Claire in daily contact with Tony, the hot handyman neighbor. Totally accidental. Totally.
As every romance audiobook narrator knows, there’s no better love catalyst than forced proximity… plus a little cheese dip and mild emotional chaos. Between revelations about Tony’s rockstar past, accidental run-ins, and existential debates about beverages, romantic sparks are inevitable.
By the end of the episode, Shannon’s got Brian in on the plan, Claire’s washing dishes with the neighbor, and the romcom formula is officially in motion.

Claire officially begins her “temporary childcare assignment” (aka Shannon’s matchmaking scheme) while Shannon heads off to Romance Con to rub elbows with the who’s who of audiobook and romantasy fandoms.
Meanwhile, Claire gets a crash course in parenting when she takes the kids to the bus stop, fends off a coyote, and keeps running into Tony, the ruggedly charming neighbor. Between pajama day, VR gaming chaos, and a MARTA ride packed with furries, Claire’s week is off to a wildly unconventional start.
And while Shannon is fangirling over celebrity heartthrob Jake Fisher at her conference, “Camp Claire” is already showing signs of romantic potential.

04. Celebrity Encounters of the Werepanther Kind
Thu, 12 Feb 2026 10:30:00 GMT
Things are heating up—both at Camp Claire and at Shannon’s Romance Lit conference.
While Shannon tries to balance being a mom, wife, and part-time matchmaker, a surprise viral video catapults her into internet fame. Turns out, heartthrob Jake Fisher was caught lip-syncing Shannon’s Midnight Darkness audiobook narration… and the internet can’t get enough.
Meanwhile, Claire and Tony take the kids on a day trip to Six Flags that’s equal parts mayhem and undeniable chemistry. Between roller coasters, questionable amusement park food, and a surprising treehouse moment under the twinkle lights, sparks are definitely flying.
But as Shannon gets swept up in her viral whirlwind, complete with a knock at her hotel room door from a celebrity heartthrob, she realizes she’s lost track of what’s happening back home. Uh oh.

05. The One Where Shannon Finds Out
Thu, 19 Feb 2026 10:30:00 GMT
The meddler becomes the meddled-with.
Fresh off her viral moment and back in full matchmaker mode, Shannon doubles down on her plan to spark romance between her sister Claire and hunky friend, Tony. What she doesn’t expect? That her plan might actually be working already.
While Shannon and Brian toy with the idea of Brian leaving his day job to help run Shannon’s growing voiceover empire, Claire and Tony are doing their own kind of creative collaboration—from workout banter to heartfelt lunches and artistic confessions. But just as the chemistry builds, Claire starts to suspect her sister’s been pulling the strings all along.
Meanwhile, a tense family dinner with their boomer parents brings gender roles, finances, and fiery one-liners to the table. And when the truth finally comes out? Shannon is equal parts thrilled and terrified.
Because every romcom formula needs conflict—and this one’s about to hit its big turning point.

06. Claire Falls…Into Old Habits
Thu, 26 Feb 2026 10:30:00 GMT
In this episode of The Romcom Formula, real life gets messier than any trope Shannon could dream up.
After gloating to listeners about her matchmaking prowess, Shannon reveals that Brian has officially left his corporate job to become her stay-at-home (and studio-support) husband. Meanwhile, Claire struggles to balance her growing feelings for Tony with her workaholic instincts. When she cancels their kayaking date to cover a last-minute client shoot, she misses his art exhibition—and Tony’s patience starts to wear thin.
But fate (and a few airline miles) have other plans. When Claire and Tony discover they’ll both be in New York for work, they plan a very secret rendezvous. Unfortunately, Brian can’t keep a secret to save his life—and Shannon’s romcom meddling instincts kick right back in.

Shannon can hardly contain herself when she discovers that Claire and Tony are both in New York at the same time. Surely, it’s fate… or maybe just excellent plotting. While Claire insists she’s only there for a job interview, Shannon and Brian turn their kitchen into a romcom command center, launching a full-on “Cyrano de Bergerac” texting operation to secretly feed Tony romantic suggestions.
Meanwhile, Claire and Tony take on the city: ice cream at Serendipity, people-watching in Central Park, and a fateful detour to—wait for it—the Museum of Sex. Between novelty desserts and not-so-subtle flirting, the chemistry is undeniable.
By the end of the night, they haven’t labeled it—but the air between them is basically humming with possibility.

08. Bring the Heat But Hold the Jalapeños
Thu, 12 Mar 2026 09:30:00 GMT
Just when things were heating up between Claire and Tony, life cranks up the drama. Their New York whirlwind comes to a screeching halt when Tony’s daughter, Dominique, is injured in an accident. He rushes to Nashville—and Claire soon follows, armed with groceries, empathy, and questionable jalapeño-handling skills.
Between doctor updates, spicy taco mishaps, and big career decisions, Claire and Tony face their first real test as a couple. When Claire drops the bomb that she’s accepted a new job in New York, they decide to keep their spark alive—no matter the miles between them.
Meanwhile, Shannon and Brian get all the messy, hilarious details—including Claire’s accidental spicy mishap.
By the end of the episode, Claire’s starting her new job, Tony’s staying close to Dominique, and Shannon’s wondering if even the best romcom formulas can handle a long-distance relationship.
