Above & Below

Thu, 13 Nov 2025 07:00:00 -0000

Above & Below is a sci-fi story of long-distance love in an increasingly apocalyptic time. A couple relegated to a deep sea research base and an orbital space station exchange video calls discussing their research, the escalating situation on land, and their love for each other.

Credits: Above and Below is a production of Parazonium Podcasts. It was written by Brad Colbroock and Tal Minear. Captain Alex Stelemar was voiced by Brad Colbroock, Colonel Davis was voiced by DJ Sylvis, and Captain Sam Stelemar was voiced by Tal Minear. Dialogue Editing and Sound Design was by Brad Colbroock, with assistance from Tal Minear. Our cover art is by Orion Ibert.

In Above& Below, a long distance relationship gives us a glimpse into a world on the brink of nuclear war. Captains Stelemar and Stelemar have been sent to the bottom of the sea and the upper atmosphere to research agricultural warfare options in the event of attack. Thousands of miles apart, they must grapple with their separation, the morals of working for a war-hungry government, and the fear of living in a confined space. Above & Below is a Sci-Fi Romance with elements of Horror. It deals with themes of isolation, romance, and looming fear. Think The Martian crossed with The Shape of Water with a more front-facing government influence.
