This page lets you filter my database of all of the new fiction and audio drama podcasts by granular tags to a precise niche. This is very much a work in progress, with tagging of shows always improving. If you want to help, submit your show or update your tagging.
Because tagging is incomplete, you may wish to leave some options empty with initial searches, and then get more specific.

The Midnight Dispatch
The Midnight Dispatch presents Season 1: The Ripper & The Rift — a 12-part historical fiction thriller set in the gaslit shadows of Victorian London. It’s 1890. The city is modernizing, but something ancient is stirring beneath the cobblestones. When a terrified woman collides with Oscar Wilde outside a theater, she sets off a chain of events that draws Wilde and his companions into a mystery far stranger than scandal or murder. As bodies begin to appear — marked with symbols no one can explain — Wilde finds himself entangled with British Intelligence, occult secrets, and a darkness that predates the Empire itself. Blending real historical figures with supernatural intrigue, The Ripper & The Rift reimagines the Jack the Ripper murders through the eyes of artists, spies, and skeptics caught in a widening breach between reason and ritual.Written and produced by Joe Ferguson, The Midnight Dispatch is an anthology podcast where each season explores a different time, place, and mystery — all rooted in the strange intersections of history and imagination.

The Dockporter: a Mackinac Island Podcast
Read by The Dockporter co-author and enriched with summer sounds and music, this podcast is an offbeat, nostalgic coming-of-age story that appeals to anyone who ever had a summer job. If Rushmore director Wes Anderson remade Caddyshack, but it emerged as a hybrid of Footloose and Meatballs (and was a book), it would be The Dockporter. Set on Mackinac Island in northern Michigan, The Dockporter is genre-smashing, hilariously fresh, yet refreshingly familiar—a novel about friends, family, love, luggage, and the summers we never forget. Adapted from the novel of the same name, this is the first of many Mackinac Island stories to come.

And the Heavens Burn, A Norse Mythology-based fantasy series
Welcome to the Kinsmen Die podcast, home of fantasy fiction based on Norse mythology that’s written and read by me, Matt Bishop. I’ve written two novels – Kinsmen Die and Dark Grows the Sun. They are the first two books in my series called And the Heavens Burn. In this podcast I will read both books and, when it’s finally finished, that third, concluding book in the series. My goal is to share my love of Norse mythology and, obviously, my books. I believe I’ve done something unique when it comes to the retelling those old stories. The point of view characters in my books are the Aesir themselves: Odin and Frigg. Vidar. Hodr. Loki. And, because the dude is awesome and has a really tough name to pronounce: Vafthrudnir. Everything you’ll hear is based on my interpretation of the source materials – the Poetic Edda and the Prose Edda, along with a stack of books that discuss the myths … and another stack of academic articles that do the same. Right now, I’m planning to read one chapter per week. Every five episodes will be a combination recap and explication of how I incorporated the myths and why I made the choices I did – without spoilers!
